This week, we are looking forward to a much-anticipated masterclass led by Jo Laugharne. Jo is going to do some work with us on building tension in drama as well as getting us up
and thinking on our feet with improvisation games to help us work on spontaneity and creativity.
Whether you have been along to a Thursday session at The Village Hall before or not, this will be a great week to come and join in. We meet from 19.30 – 21.30.

Last week, we wrapped up 2025 with an exploration of Oxfordshire carols and jingled in the New Year! Happy Christmas from HAMS!

17/12/2025

Thursday 18th's session at 7:30pm is a Christmassy celebration! Expect some raucous singing and jolly jingling as Gemma takes us on an exploration of carols linked to Oxfordshire. Come for a mince pie and one of Susan's sausage rolls, and stay for a merry sing song!

10/12/2025

No HAMS session this coming Thursday 11th. Our final session of 2025 will be on Thurs Dec 18th at 7:30pm led by Gemma, where will be exploring Carol traditions unique to Oxfordshire - expect silly singing, bell dinging and a bit of bubbles and cake! Please join us!

Our most recent HAMS workshop was farcical! Quite literally! Mary made links to our recent trip to the Watermill and members found themselves discussing the elements of farce before putting this into effect re-enacting scenes from well-known and well-loved British farces. By popular account, Lilli’s interpretation of Madame Arcati from Blithe Spirit was out of this world, while The Importance of Being Earnest brought back memories for some…

All HAMS hands to work! 🙌
We need your help with this year’s decorations for the village Tree Fest. Chloe’s excellent idea is to make ‘tickets’ to enter one of our shows which will then be strung together into a garland. These tickets should be very roughly 3 inches by 4.5 inches and are made out of foam paper. These are very easily cut and then images can be attached using pvc glue or a hot glue gun, or stitched in landscape orientation. These images should be relevant to us, so probably taken from our shows. Attached is Chloe’s demonstration ’ticket’ along with some of her initial inspiration ideas. I will leave plenty of foam paper at Stephanie’s tomorrow for everyone. Completed tickets should ideally be returned at next week’s masterclass.
Many thanks and happy crafting!

Following our trip to The Watermill to see Charlie’s Aunt last week, Thursday’s session at 7.30pm will be led by Mary and will explore farce!
Chloe will be demonstrating her Christmas Tree vision - we only have a week to put together our decorations, so all hands to help the HAMS tree decorations are needed!

Thanks to Myf Laugharne for leading us in this week’s masterclass in how to do stage combat! Her excellent tuition meant we came away unscathed despite the ‘fighting’ which ensued 😆. It was certainly a good workout!
