Friday 12 June 9am - Sunday 14 June 6pm

A three-day Festival celebrating the living human voice, in all its diversity, magic and potency.

Through Podcast Q&As, Workshops, Plenary and Masterclasses, this Festival will shine a light on the skill, technique and practice of speaking poetry, stories and dramatic text.

With (Voice Coach, Berry/Linklater), Sarah Kane (Speech and Acting trainer, Steiner/ Chekhov), Benjamin Moore (Voice and Acting coach, Linklater), Barbara Houseman (Performance Mastercoach and Theatre Director), Peter Oswald (Playwright, Poet and Performer).

With special guest Joan Mills (Director of Giving Voice, Centre for Performance Research, Wales)

CHEKHOV’S QUALITIES OF MOVEMENT: A FIRST STEP IN GETTING TO KNOW A CHARACTER

These workshops explore one of the core elements of Michael Chekhov’s acting technique- Creating Character. The workshops build upon each other, but each will be an entirety in itself and can be taken individually. Please bring soft shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for movement.

The Essentials in Twelve Steps explores the core principles of the Michael Chekhov Technique through a series of practical workshop sessions.

Participants should bring a monologue and a scene to work on, along with soft-soled shoes and loose clothing suitable for movement.
