Sad Sunday vibes here in the home studio as I look through my box of unsold work I picked up from . Let me first of all say I am so unbelievably grateful for every single one of you who supported the shop and my work over the past many years. And especially in the last weeks of trading. Every like and visit and purchase of my work or any of the other fantastic artists’ work has been so appreciated. Thank you so so much.
But the truth is that was more than just a shop. It was independent, beautifully curated, wonderfully supportive to artists and customers alike. And I am gutted to lose such an important part of my glass journey. But more than that, we are losing independent shops from our high streets and it’s devastating for all of us.
But I did find some sunny Sunday vibes when I saw this wee penguin leaded piece in the box. I mean I can hardly believe nobody snapped up what may be one of my favourite pieces of glass!! But he sure did bring a smile to my face. So he’s hanging in my studio for now, spreading cheer and sunshine.
If you think he belongs to you then give me a shout, all work is available for rehoming.
I will get organised and photograph the work on a brighter day and have a wee post P&B sale.

2026 brings a new chapter as I was invited to join as a full time member. I’ve been hanging around the studio as part of the Tuesday night class and benefitted from the support of members for many years. This is an exciting opportunity for me to build on that and I very much look forward to seeing what the year ahead brings.

The Crane

Although I’ve been fairly quiet here, I’ve been working away in the background learning new skills, creating new work, exploring new avenues.
This work is adapted from a bigger piece of work I did for the Glasgow 850 exhibition. The crane is one of the most iconic images of the shipbuilding history of Glasgow and the Clyde. A history which is central to the fabric of the City of Glasgow.
Hand painted with traditional Reusche glass paints and fired onto a base of clear and blue iridescent . The framing is a simple lead came frame.

I am delighted to tell you my work Light on Leaf was chosen as the winner of the People’s Prize in Alchemy: the 2025 exhibition of . I’m really touched to have been chosen by the people whilst exhibiting in the company of the beautiful work of over 30 artists, all demonstrating such a vast range skill and talent. The exhibition was truly inspiring.
Thank you ever so much for taking the time to vote. It is a wonderful end to my first experience of exhibiting work.

This was my first leaded glass window. I had been working with fused glass for a while but hadn’t been brave enough to dive in to what originally drew me to working with glass. It’s a copy of a window in an american house built in the 1920s. I still love the simplicity of the design.

Thanks to for nudging me to finally hang it in my home 😊 after lying neglected in my studio for 7 years.

I got it out this morning and gave it a good polish before hanging in my hall window. It’s not perfect. But it looks good!

We Build Our Future

When I was thinking about creating a piece of work for the exhibition for Glasgow’s 850th anniversary, I found the poem The Tree That Never Grew by Ingrid Lees. It talks about building on Glasgow’s past to create the Glasgow of today. The second piece of work is looking to how the future was built and what better place to start than the landmark Finnieston Crane.

These works are touring venues in Glasgow as part of the Art on the A-Frame exhibition on various dates between now and the end of year.

Better pictures to follow 😉
