Iā€™ve been sharing DJ knowledge now, on a professional level, for over 20 years!

Mostly on original vinyl records, but also occasionally, with the Serato digital vinyl system!

In 2005 I was recruited to Chequers Bridge Youth Arts Centre HQ in Gloucester, to teach vinyl DJing, after winning an all-vinyl DJ competition in London the previous year.

I worked there for 5 years, until the Gloucestershire Youth Service was dismantled! From there I worked freelance up and down the M5 corridor - from Worcester to Bristol - with my MC workshop partner Danger for several years!

Most recently I have been invited to facilitate Youth WAX DJ Workshops at Kingshill House Creative Centre in Dursley!

Last week was my 2nd time at Kingshill & I had the privilege of working with a 14 year old, who was also a Grade 7 Drummer!

Heā€™d had a brief experience experimenting with a friend of the familyā€™s digital controller - but was super curious about how original vinyl DJing worked!

Needless to say, when he heard the music physically etched into the grooves of the vinyl record (with the mixer volume turned right down) it blew his mind!!!

He even asked if we could resume 15 minutes earlier (eating into his lunch break) on the Friday session - so he could have one last practise before his first ever live vinyl DJ performance during the afternoon session!

What a super inspiring two days of learningā€¦

Have you ever wanted to blend your own herbal tea?

Herbs and spices have been used since ancient times to aid health, and many of our favourite ones like chamomile, rosemary, ginger and turmeric can be blended into tasty herbal teas. In these workshops you will learn the art of creating tea, and how to blend herbs together to support different wellbeing needs. You will also explore other lifestyle tips to support your health. Over four sessions the workshops will provide herbs and health tips for:
Ā· Mental wellness and relaxation
Ā· Creating good sleep
Ā· Autumn immune health
Ā· Digestive health

Dr Viv Rolfe is a scientist who has researched herbs and the human body for many years. In her teaching she weaves herbal traditions and scientific evidence together, and uses this knowledge to create her own herbal teas which you can find at local markets. She is a registered Health Coach and passionate about guiding people to live well and learn about sleep, relaxation, good food, movement and the social and spiritual elements of their lives.

Join a fearless troupe of actor-musicians as they hurtle across continents in this riotously entertaining, globe-trotting show inspired by Jules Verneā€™s much-loved classic. With the clock ticking, Phileas Fogg and his quick-thinking companions attempt the impossible: travelling around the world in just 80 days.
