With just two weeks remaining of the Peter Rabbit: Tales on the Tyne trail, I thought it was finally time to share a little of the journey behind the creation of Hoppy Days, affectionately known as Posy.

Back in April, a blank Peter Rabbit sculpture arrived at my door thanks to the wonderful Julie from Durham Soaps and her rabbut mobile. What followed was five weeks of painting, creativity, and more hours than I could ever count, spent transforming that plain white rabbit into the colourful character you see today.

Working from our summer house at the bottom of the garden, I brought my original January design to life using countless pots of emulsion and acrylic paint. Slowly, Hoppy Days began to bloom with flowers, daisies, ladybirds and bees. With only a few days to spare before the deadline, she was finally finished and ready to begin her adventure on the trail.

Since then, she has spent the summer proudly overlooking the sea at Cullercoats, where she has received so much love from visitors. Seeing photographs, hearing your lovely comments, and knowing that she has brought smiles to so many people has made every hour worthwhile.

If you haven’t visited Hoppy Days yet, there are only two weeks left to find her before she leaves her summer home for a little pampering ahead of the farewell event and auction.

And if there are any potential buyers reading this, keep an eye on the auction details. It would be wonderful to see Hoppy Days find a loving forever home while raising as much money as possible for the incredible work of St Oswald’s Hospice.

What a fabulous photo! 💙

I’ve just been sent this lovely picture of Mollie enjoying a visit to Hoppy Days in beautiful Cullercoats. What a perfect day for a rabbit hunt by the sea! I love how Hoppy Days’ bright blue coat blends so beautifully with the sea and sky behind her.

Seeing photos like this really makes me smile. It’s wonderful to know that families are out exploring the trail, making memories and enjoying all the amazing artwork along the way and all for a fabulous cause raising vital funds for St Oswald's Hospice.

If you haven’t visited yet, there’s still time to take part in the Peter Rabbit: Tales on the Tyne trail. The sculptures will leave their summer homes on 15th September for a little pampering ahead of the farewell event, before heading to auction on 13th October.

I’m currently taking orders for personalised notebooks featuring my little collection of watercolour rabbits.

These designs were inspired by my involvement in the Peter Rabbit: Tales on the Tyne trail, where I had the pleasure of painting Hoppy Days, one of the large Peter Rabbit sculptures created in support of St Oswald’s Hospice.

Being part of the trail has been such a wonderful experience, and I’d love the opportunity to give something back. That’s why £1 from every notebook sold will be donated directly to St Oswald’s Hospice, helping them continue the incredible support they provide to local families.

Yesterday’s adventure took us to Bridge Street Books in Amble, where Linda Lee Author and I were delighted to host a storytime session. It was wonderful to see so many children enjoying the story read by Linda and carry out some of the activities from her recently published activity book, and, as always, the watercolour painting activity proved to be a huge hit.

We had such a lovely time, made even more special by a stroll around Amble. There’s always inspiration to be found by the sea, and I came away with plenty of ideas that will be invaluable for my current illustration project, another collaboration with Linda.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of delivering a Pizza & Paint workshop for some of the team at Sopra Steria, proud sponsors of my Peter Rabbit: Tales on the Tyne sculpture, ‘Hoppy Days’.

For two hours we swapped laptops for paintbrushes and created our own rabbit inspired designs. This wonderful group may have been a little older (and definitely quieter) than my usual pupils, but they approached the challenge with the same enthusiasm, creativity and sense of fun.

I was so impressed by the imagination and artistic talent on display, just look at these amazing creations! 🎨🐇

A huge thank you to everyone at Sopra Steria for inviting me along, making me feel so welcome and making it such an enjoyable evening. It was a joy to share some creativity, laughter and painting with you all.

Grumpy Minnie isn’t too pleased at my choice of illustration. I’ve lost my seat and it doesn’t look like she’s moving any time soon.
