Colne Town Hall - 01/08/26
Last night’s investigation was definitely one of the quieter ones, but as every paranormal investigator knows, quiet nights can still leave you with plenty to think about…
👻 Council Chamber
We started the evening in the council chamber where activity was fairly limited. Guests felt the names “Olive,” “Olivia,” or “Oliver,” come into their heads, along with a few other interesting moments. When guests sat in the main Councillors chair, they complained of a headache, feeling nauseous and even being pushed out of the chair physically by something unknown.
The cat ball activated during the session, one member of the group reported the scent of women’s perfume with no obvious source, and another described the feeling of being subtly pushed towards the main council chair. A guest also reported hearing what sounded like a woman screaming. Spirit box communication here was minimal, making for a very quiet session overall.
🏛️ The Basement
Most of the night’s activity centred around the basement.
Using the dowsing rods, we appeared to establish communication with what identified itself as a male councillor, who indicated that although he had a connection to the building, he did not die there.
One room in particular left a lasting impression. A guest became visibly shaken after saying she could see a dark figure standing in the corner. She was so unsettled that she urged everyone to leave immediately, saying she felt genuinely threatened and feared for everyone’s safety. Experiences like these are always personal, but it’s safe to say the atmosphere in that room was incredibly intense.
🎧 Estes Method
During our Estes Method session in the staff break room, some striking words came through, including:
• “Ian”
• “Leave”
• “Go”
• “Get out”
• “I’m scared”
• “Trapped”
Along with many profanities and swear words.
There were also distressed female vocalisations during the session. The airflow device activated a couple of times, and after the word “chair” came through, we asked who was sitting in it. The response appeared to be, “You… you…”, seemingly directed at Team Member, Richard.
📱 Ovilus Responses
Early in the night, as we entered one of the basement rooms, the Ovilus displayed:
➡️ “See you”
Later, when we returned to the same room, it simply replied:
➡️ “Really”
Safe to say, that one got a few laughs from the group!
🚢 A Curious Moment
While in the break room, Noah recited the reported final words of Wallace Hartley, the bandmaster aboard the Titanic. At that exact moment, the K2 meter gave a slight flicker. It certainly caught our attention, although it wasn’t strong enough to be considered conclusive.
Overall, it was a quieter investigation than we’re used to, but there were still several intriguing moments that kept us questioning what we were experiencing. Not every ghost hunt is packed with constant activity, and sometimes it’s the subtle experiences that stay with you the longest.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us—you made it another fantastic evening! We’d love to hear what stood out to you the most. Did you experience anything we haven’t mentioned? Let us know in the comments below! 👻🔦
