The Little Theatre, Dunstable

The Little Theatre, Dunstable Home of the Dunstable Rep. Quality theatre, volunteer run, for Dunstable, Luton and the surrounding areas The Little Theatre is the home of the Dunstable Rep.

We were founded in 1945 and performed at the old Town Hall.
2008 saw us commemorate our move to the Little Theatre 40 years ago. Originally a library, the Little Theatre was opened by the ‘Carry On’ star Bernard Breslaw in October 1968. Six amateur shows are performed annually in the 99 seat auditorium, together with a thriving programme of additional performances.

AUDITIONS FOR THE TRENCH THIS THURSDAY

We’re looking for performers to help bring this dark and imaginative First World War story to life through verse, ensemble work (critical to the piece), puppetry and percussion. This play can be performed with anything from four to nine actors with roles as follows:

Bert (central character – male)
Collins (male)
Narration Chorus 1, 2 and 3 (male/female)
Soldier 1 and 2 (male)
Voice of 'The Guide' (including puppetry)
Voice of 'The Demon' (including puppetry)

Auditionees will also be asked to demonstrate some straightforward rhythm skills.

AUDITIONS: THE TRENCH – 3 SEPTEMBER

Join Dunstable Rep on stage this autumn and transport audiences to the tunnels beneath the battlefields of the First World War.

Auditions for The Trench by Oliver Lansley take place next week. The play follows a miner trapped in a collapsed tunnel as the boundaries between reality and fantasy begin to blur.

This atmospheric production combines ensemble performance, puppetry and percussion, with roles available for a range of ages.
