Thank you for everyone who joined us and supported us at our performances in Greenock, Oban, and Dunoon. It was wonderful to bring this story to so many people, and we hope it’s something that will stay with you for some time to come. Also a huge thank you to Elaine, Chris, Louise and Dugald - it was a joy to work with you all again 💜

🌙In Other Words - Meet Jane 🌙
Introducing Elaine Graham, an actor who has been involved with many productions across both coasts of Scotland. We watch Jane dance and fall in love with Arthur to ‘Fly Me to the Moon’, and we see just how important music is in all of our lives.
It’s a stunning portrayal of love, laughter, and loss by this very talented actor - you will smile and cry alongside Jane.

🌙In Other Words - Meet Arthur🌙
Chris Gavin, an actor who has featured in many productions throughout the west of Scotland, including recently playing Begbie in the UK and London productions of Irvine Welsh’s P0rn0, plays Arthur.
His likeable and nuanced performance brings Arthur to life, from masterfully executing his romantic plan to navigating through his life as his Alzheimer’s disease progresses. It is an incredible performance from this very talented actor.

💜What is ‘In Other Words’ about?💜
The play follows the story of Jane and Arthur. We see them fall in love and spend their lives together, until Arthur is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. We watch the two of them navigate through living with the disease, and stay together even in the hardest of times.

💜Why is it called ‘In Other Words’?💜
It’s named after their song - ‘Fly Me to the Moon’. Jane and Arthur first fall in love when dancing to this song, and throughout the play you’ll hear different versions of the song as the years go by. Music evokes memories and emotions, and research has shown that music has a profound effect on patients with Alzheimer’s, helping them recall memories, improve mood, and improve communication. Their song is what binds these two together.

It’s a beautifully written story, with exceptional performances from two actors. You’ll laugh and cry, and leave thinking about this story for a long time to come.
