CD Packaging: Digifiles

There are many different packaging types available and, when picking the packaging for your album, it's important to get it right.

Digifiles are a card-only package, like digisleeves, that hold their discs in crescent-cut slits across the middle of an inner panel. These packages can include multiple discs and/or booklets, and are available with 4, 6 or 8 panels.

Applications are now open for Off The Record 2026 Showcase!

Applications are now open for Off The Record 2026 Showcase, taking place at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh.

Four acts aged 16–25 will be selected to perform to a public and music industry audience.

Selected artists will also receive online mentoring support, live photography, professional backline and sound engineering, catering, a £150 showcase fee and a follow-up development meeting.

Applications will be assessed on submitted music and evidence of career development activity. Artists do not need to already have a team or established fanbase.

39 years ago today!

Another throwback. 39 years ago today, following the release of their widely successful final album “A Glint of Silver”, Silly Wizard were presented with the NAIRD Indie Award at a ceremony in San Francisco. The American body, NAIRD (the National Association of Independent Record Distributors & Manufacturers), chose to recognise the band due to the album’s widespread critical and popular acclaim.

The certificate states: "This award is presented in grateful acknowledgement of your exceptional contribution to the world of creative independent music."

Sadly, the album is not currently available. If you are lucky enough to have a copy, hang on to it – and give it another listen!
