It’s hard to believe that today is the last day of the exhibition up at Hill of The O’Neill . I’m here 10-4pm today, we have already had a heap of people in to catch it before it gets taken down! I’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the staff here at Ranfurly House! They have all been so kind and engaging over the hours I’ve spent painting up here and have been just as excited to welcome each visitor as I have been! Their love for the venue and the people who come through it really shows in each and every staff member and role, I have been so impressed with their professionalism! A special shout out to sara for all the help with logistics and caffeine runs 💖

I’ll be up again today painting on the Hill, I know some of you have planned to pop in and say hello! 👋 I also have to say a massive thank you to the and Jarlath Cowan for the lovely write up and spread in this week’s paper! The Tyrone Herald featured my work last year when an exhibition was just a thought and goal, but saying it publicly in the paper gave me the nudge to make it a reality!

I still can’t quite believe I’m writing this…

Today, the BBC shares the story behind my exhibition, The Cost of Living, featuring two incredible Story Portraits: Mary and her great-granddaughter Hatty.

What began as an idea to paint portraits inspired by conversation has grown into something so much bigger than I ever imagined. It’s been an honour to spend time listening to people’s lives and to tell those stories through paint.

I’m incredibly grateful to all my interviewees, especially Mary, Hatty and their family for trusting me with their story, and to BBC News NI for taking an interest in the project and helping share it with a wider audience.

If you’re in Northern Ireland, keep an eye on BBC Newsline this evening, where the television feature will be broadcast. The story will also feature on BBC Radio Ulster this morning. I can’t wait to share it with you all!

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far. I hope these stories encourage us all to slow down, ask more questions and listen a little more closely to the people around us. ❤️
