Happy New Year one and all!

You'll have to forgive us for being quiet on here, so we thought we'd give you a wee update!

To kick off our recruitment, and to finally forge the Scottish Video Game Orchestra, we'll be putting on a Video Game Orchestra Play Day around April (full details TBC), where you can come and try us out, and sign up to become a fully fledged member.

Thank you to those who have donated a total of £275 to get The Scottish Video Game Orchestra of the ground!

For those who don't know, I decided to establish The Scottish Video Game Orchestra to provide Scotland with the opportunity for people to perform and hear live the soundtrack to their favourite video games, whilst giving musicians cool performance opportunities at various venues.

As the former MD of The London Video Game Orchestra, I know that the overheads on running an orchestra are significant from the cost of securing music, getting the rights, the weekly hire of a rehearsal venue, the hire of a concert venue, creation of a website, hiring percussion, and of course marketing costs.

I’m looking to fundraise to secure the initial costs of rehearsals, music, and website to help get the SVGO off the ground, and begin rehearsals by January 2026.

If you can afford to spare the cost of a cup of coffee, it really will go along way to cement the orchestra in Scotland!
