A huge well done to everyone involved in Tayside Opera production of Eugene Onegin at The Space Theatre tonight.

This is a big sing, with a challenging and beautiful score that demands so much from the principals, chorus and orchestra alike. The commitment, musicianship and storytelling on display were excellent bringing Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece to life for Dundee audiences.

Congratulations to the entire company on a fantastic achievement.

This production runs till Saturday and there are tickets still available.

OPENING NIGHT was a joy. Now three more performances and a few tickets still available. The toil of the peasants, the fun of the party and the tragedy of the duel and lost love. Do come and see the stellar cast delivering his musical operatic treat. 4th , 5th and 6th June.

CLASS OF 2026 taken at last nights "exhausting" technical rehearsal. Missing some faces but the team are on the cusp of joining up with our wonderful orchestra this week to deliver Eugene Onegin 3rd to 6th June. TICKET SALES are financial of course, but primarily they are about the people behind them whose applause and appreciation we need.

More important than ticket sales are the opportunities, for singers to showcase their talent and sing operatic roles, musicians to play, and for anyone to experience opera on or off stage in a way that is accessible and affordable. So many lovely folk have been part of the journey since 1968.

It is very hard to maintain this musical genre and requires dedication. The culmination of every individuals effort is a joy.

To sum up it would be super to have every seat filled but let us all keep perspective and never forget that Tayside opera is about providing opportunity for all.

It is not over until the curtain closes/ friends/ family / neighbours and opera lovers. Please get your tickets.
