✨ What a night at the Scottish Dance Awards 2026 ✨

To be recognised as finalists in 4 categories this year is something we are incredibly proud of:

Although we didn’t bring home a trophy this time, being nominated alongside so many inspiring schools and organisations is an achievement in itself. To go from 2 finalist nominations last year… to 4 this year… says everything about the passion, growth, and heart behind Destination Dance.

A huge thank you to our dancers, families, staff, and everyone who supports our journey. You are the reason we continue to grow, inspire, and do what we love every single day.

Last year we were finalists for 2 awards… and this year to be recognised in FOUR categories honestly means everything. It reflects the hard work, passion and dedication of every single dancer, teacher and supporter in our DD family 💛

No matter the outcome, we are so proud of how far we’ve come, all within less than 3 years of starting up. Thank you to everyone who continues to support and believe in us 🫶🏻

We are still buzzing from the incredible success of Just Can’t Get Enough! 💃🕺 A huge THANK YOU to our amazing dancers, teachers, volunteers back stage, and everyone who came out to support us. The energy, passion, and talent on that stage made this show truly unforgettable.

We may be a small dance school, but we strive to inspire, educate, and promote creativity in the girls we teach from an early age, allowing them to grow and develop into the best dancers possible.

Dancing helps improve co-ordination for several reasons:

1. Body Awareness:

When you dance, you become more aware of your body movements and how different parts of your body work together. This awareness helps in developing better coordination🧍🏼‍♀️

2. Rhythm and Timing:

Dancing requires you to move in sync with music, which enhances your sense of timing. This rhythmic movement helps your brain and body to work together more efficiently💃🏼

3. Balance and Stability:

Many dance styles involve shifting weight, turning, and balancing on one foot. Practicing these movements strengthens your balance and stability, which are crucial for overall coordination🦵🏽

4. Motor Skills:

Dancing involves a variety of movements, from simple steps to complex routines. This variety challenges your motor skills, helping to refine your coordination as you learn to execute different movements smoothly👁️

5. Cognitive Engagement:
