✨🎶🎄JOY & LIGHT🎄🎶✨
✨FESTIVE CHARITY CONCERT✨
Victoria Hall, Dunblane - Wednesday 10th Dec.

This year we are raising money for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland in honour of our dear member Roberta, and we will be having our usual foodbank collection point for Start Up Stirling.

We're delighted to be joined by our singing pals Blackford Sings, Sangschule and Song Squad for a night of joyful singing - come and join us!

The evening is byob (glasses provided), and tickets are £8 which are available from Meldrums, Dunblane High Street or from any Liltin Lassies member. And we are also having our traditional (and it has to be said, pretty AMAZING) hamper raffle.

*We call it Joy & Light as we do joyful and light songs as well as festive loveliness... that way we don't have to start rehearsing Christmas Carols in July... 😂

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Here’s a couple of verses of one of our favourite songs (There’s Another Train by Pete Morton) that we’ve been busy rehearsing for the performance platform at The Dunblane Big Sing in a couple of weeks.
This version is based on the Poozies gorgeous rendition of this stunning song, (which I spent many, MANY hundreds of hours listening to on long car journeys during my childhood in the 90s). Such a beautiful message and still one of my favourite ever songs - love that The Liltin Lassies love it as much as I do. We're looking forward to singing it!

Just under half of us had a LOVELY afternoon singing some of our favourite songs for the brilliant folks at Dementia Friendly Dunblane's Memory cafe last Friday. What a lovely audience, and loads of singing along which was just brilliant! Thanks to Liltin Lassie Isla as well who told a couple of terrific stories.
Thank you SO much for having us! This video is BRILLIANT!

We're busy preparing for our end of term and performances, but also really starting to look forward to The Dunblane Big Sing in September, our first big "event" after the Summer Break!
It's so lovely to share some of the songs we sing regularly with a much bigger group - and also to learn new ones in a huge group setting!

Open to all who like singing! Come and join in a Great Big Sing!

We're having a lovely term, it's been so nice meeting up these last few weeks on sunny, summery evenings (ok, well maybe not last night - but that rain on grass/earth smell is still feeling quite new and exciting after no rain for so long... petrichor they call it...so it's still nice to meet up in it) and we are busy practicing for some wee performances that we have coming up.
This term , a lovely wee song we've been working on (amongst others) is "It wis Aa fer Oor Rightfu King". I listen to music whilst I'm gardening and this is a song that a couple of versions of has (have?) popped up when I put my phone on random... and it's so nice that I've found myself singing it a lot whilst I tie up my peonies, tackle the ivy that's trying to take over the back wall and battle the slugs and snails that seem to have a long standing vendetta against my veg patch...
Anyhoo - for more information on the song, I've included a link below to a brilliant website/resource that I use a lot - Mainly Norfolk, so do give it a wee look for this song (or any others you fancy knowing about).
Here is a wee clip of my glorious Liltin Lassies singing it last night, it's one of the songs that we're performing in a few weeks time at our performances.
Enjoy! And hope you all have a lovely week of petrichor and singing and the odd wee break of sunshine.

(PS - I've had to start taking off my shoes as I tap my feet and dance a bit whilst conducting... so they make an appearance over by Hilary and the highs.)

I'm so excited that this year at The Dunblane Big Sing there's going to be a guest tutor leading the afternoon workshop, and I'm even more excited and delighted to announce that it's my pal, singer and songwriter (AND wonderful singing leader) Hannah Rarity. 🎶😍🍂🤩🎶.

Hannah's beautiful arrangements and friendly, welcoming teaching style makes for a just glorious workshop, so I can't wait to have her as part of the day and share the teaching with her - as well as learn from her myself!
