Triple Thread Productions are proud to announce that tickets for our one-night concert presentation of Three of a Kind at Cottiers Theatre are now officially on sale!

On Friday we had another readthrough of three of a kind with a fantastic new group of performers who provided us with so much positive energy and fantastic things to go away and think about as we constantly develop the show. You will have seen the first cast we had which we were grateful for and so we wanted to give thanks to the 10 who gave up their time for us! We want to thank Natalie Tedesco, Sophie Anderson, Anna Robertson, Iona Campbell, 👓ＡＤＡＭ 🎬, Brendan Lynch, Gordon Downie, Catherine Mackenzie, Aileen Johnston and Caroline Telfer as well as Pantheon Theatre Club Glasgow for allowing us space in their venue. The rewrites go on in preparation for our concert next year and we can’t wait to share even more about the future! 💜

Director Opportunity!

Following workshops in London, Glasgow, & a week-long run at the Edinburgh Fringe, 3OAK is preparing for a one-night concert performance at Cottiers Theatre, Glasgow, on Sunday 25th April 2027.

The concert will feature a cast of 15 performers, a nine-piece band, & will be professionally filmed as part of the musical's ongoing development.

About the Show

Set in a small-town North American diner, 3OAK follows Sam as she balances caring for her mother while trying to build a life of her own. Surrounded by friends searching for something more, she must confront her past & discover that even the darkest memories can help reveal the light ahead.

Blending contemporary musical theatre with influences from Japanese anime & video game music, the show explores family, grief, identity, friendship & hope.

About the Role

We're seeking a collaborative director with a passion for new musicals & character-driven storytelling. Working alongside the Writer, Musical Director & Mental Health Practitioner, you'll play a key role in shaping the production throughout rehearsals.

As a concert performance, the focus is on truthful storytelling, authentic relationships & emotional connection rather than full staging. Experience with new writing / stories exploring family, grief, caregiving or mental health is welcomed but not essential.

This is a paid opportunity. As this is a self-funded development project, fees reflect the current stage/scope & will be discussed with shortlisted applicants.

THREE OF A KIND - IN CONCERT

After several years of writing, rewriting, workshops and development, I’m incredibly excited to announce that Three of a Kind will return to the stage for a special one-night concert performance at Cottiers Theatre, Glasgow. Cottiers Glasgow

Featuring a cast of 15 performers accompanied by a live 9-piece band, this concert will showcase the latest version of the musical as it continues its journey towards a full-scale production.

Set in a small-town North American diner, Three of a Kind follows Sam as she puts her own life on hold to care for her mother. Surrounded by a close-knit group of friends all searching for something more from life, Sam struggles with the weight of her past and the reality of her present as they collide. With time, she learns that even the darkest memories don’t have to be shut out; they can become the shadows that reveal the light ahead.

Blending heartfelt storytelling with a contemporary score inspired by modern musical theatre, Japanese anime and video game music, Three of a Kind is a powerful new musical exploring family, grief, friendship, identity and hope.

And just like that, our latest workshop period for Three of a Kind has come to an end, and what a few weeks it's been.

A huge thank you to our incredible performers for giving up their time, energy and talent throughout the workshop process. Not only did they bring the material to life in the room, but their reflections on the characters and story provided us with so much to think about and work on.

We'd also like to thank , and for providing rehearsal space throughout this process and helping us create an environment where the show could continue to grow and evolve.

Over the coming months we'll continue refining the script and music, testing new material, and undertaking further development work as we work towards the strongest possible version of the show.

And we're not stopping here. More workshops, more re-writes, and perhaps a concert in the future showcasing how the show has evolved since its Edinburgh Fringe run in 2024. Keep an eye out for that.

We are incredibly proud to announce Kirsten Innes as the Director for the upcoming workshop of Three of a Kind.

From our very first conversations with Kirsten, it was clear that she truly understood the heart of the story, the emotional journey of these characters, and the potential the show holds as it continues to grow. Her passion, insight, and creative instincts immediately made her feel like the perfect fit for this next stage of development.

Cast Announcement!

After more than 18 months of rewrites, late nights, character development, new music, and countless hours spent shaping this story, Triple Thread Productions are proud to announce the next workshop period for our original musical, Three of a Kind.

Over the next month, we’ll be working with ten incredible performers as we continue developing the show. Each artist brings a wealth of musical theatre experience, and we’re so excited to welcome them into the room and watch these characters come to life. We feel incredibly lucky to have such a talented and passionate group of performers involved in this stage of the show’s journey.

This show has grown so much over the last two years, and we can’t wait to finally begin sharing more of its world with you all. Throughout this process, we’ll also be sharing behind-the-scenes photos, rehearsal moments, and exclusive glimpses into the development of the show as we continue building the world of Three of a Kind.
