Dunbar Highland Dancers Welcome to the page of Dunbar Highland Dancers is based in Dunbar, East Lothian.

The School of Dunbar Highland Dancers is based in Dunbar, East Lothian. Classes are held weekly for group lessons and private lessons are also available upon request.The aims of the Dancing School are to promote the art of Highland Dancing by teaching pupils, performing, competing and through examinations. The Dancing school is open to everyone over the age of 4, regardless of experience or ability.

✨ AUGUST SKIPPING CHALLENGE! ✨

During August, the girls were set the challenge of incorporating skipping with Highland dance movements and they certainly rose to the challenge! πŸ’ͺ🏼🩡

Skipping is a fantastic way to improve strength, power, coordination, rhythm and fitness, all of which are so important for our Highland dancers.

What a fantastic day at the Memorial Competition! We loved seeing so many of our Dunbar dancers out competing and having the best time together. πŸ₯°πŸ‘

It was also a great opportunity for our dancers to compete in the Scottishe & Cake Walk, two dances they have been working so hard on and we couldn’t be prouder of how they performed! ⭐️ You were all amazing! 🩡

Aurelia and Hannah travelled to Ballater Highland Games on Thursday. Both had very large and tough groups, but they danced their hearts out ❀️ We are so proud of you both!

Aurelia then travelled to Cortachy Highland Games today and came home with the 8–11 Trophy and Overall Most Points! πŸ†βœ¨

Well done also to Giulietta who took part in some dog classes with Rufus who picked up some prizes too! πŸΆπŸ†

Very well done, girls! It’s lovely to see you all getting out competing at the Open Games and gaining such valuable experience along the way. We are very proud of you! β€οΈπŸ‘

I couldn’t be prouder of the eight Dunbar dancers who were part of the Lorient Festival Highland Dance Team team this year. 🩡

It was such a truly proud moment watching you all perform together on the stage and seeing you represent DHD with so much grace, confidence and passion. You were all absolutely amazing! πŸ₯ΉπŸ©΅

As a dance teacher, I take so much pride in seeing you follow your dreams, push yourselves outside your comfort zones and take hold of the incredible opportunities that Highland dancing can bring. These are the experiences and memories you will carry with you for years to come. ✨

A huge thank you to Zoe for stepping in and being part of the DHD dance we genuinely couldn’t have done it without you! 🩡 Also all the FIL dancers, dance mums and musicians you are all amazing ❀️
