The Poppy Coffee Club girls are back at Dudley Canal & Caverns this afternoon, attaching the next section of the Poppy Cascade for our display.

Lynda Cooper has been round collecting your donations from the Libraries.
Gemma Snead has been counting & logging the donations& working on extra parts of the project.
Michelle Snead has been making block sections of poppies ready to attach to the net & extra parts of the project.

And so it begins!!!!

The ladies have started the giant task of attaching all our the amazing poppies which have been coming in to all our local libraries across Sandwell Libraries, Dudley Libraries, Walsall Libraries, Wolverhampton Libraries & Dudley Canal & Caverns.

Gemma Michelle & Lynda have set up the Poppy Coffee Club to meet up at the Caverns to lay out the netting & start joining up everyone’s amazing Poppy bundles.

It’s amazing to see how many different designs, shapes & shades have come in.

We are still accepting your amazing contributions right up to October 15th at any Black Country library & with the lovely staff at the Caverns.

We WILL make sure every Black Country Hero is remembered this November.

We need you!!!!

We have liaised with your libraries to use as a drop off so we need as many of you to knit & crochet poppies for our upcoming displays at Dudley Canal & Caverns this November.

Don’t matter whether you make a handful or hundreds, in the words of the famous supermarket…..Every Little Helps.

Just remember when dropping off your poppies don’t forget to put your name in with them in a bag & you will go on our contributors list.

So whether you are a solo crafter or part of a club we need your help.

🌺 Our poppy collection is growing! 🌺

A huge thank you to everyone who has been busy knitting and crocheting for the Dudley Canal Trust poppy appeal. We’ve received even more beautiful poppies this week!
Pictured here are the fantastic members of Hamstead Library’s Knit and Natter group, who have been hard at work creating these lovely contributions 👏
All of these poppies will become part of a stunning cascading display at Dudley Canal Trust in the lead up to Remembrance Sunday.
There’s still plenty of time to get involved! Drop your handmade poppies into your local Sandwell Library and be part of something amazing.

Something different is happening in June 🌙

We're running Twilight Tours on two Saturday evenings - 13th and 27th June at 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm. You'll drift into the caverns as the sun begins to set, with music and light adding to the atmosphere. It's relaxed rather than educational - just a chance to experience the tunnels in a different way.

Whilst here, enjoy some food from our food vendors, ice-cream stall or head to the bottle bar for a little tipple. Or bring your own picnic and settle by the canal. Either way, it's an evening that feels different.

We’re looking for your poppy pics!

We are doing a few special projects leading up to Remembrance Day 2026 including our amazing poppy cascade at Dudley Canal & Caverns.

We are doing a special video which we need fields of poppy photos….this is where we want your help! We need as many photos of poppies out in the wild; whether at the side of the road, in a field, your own gardens, single flowers or bunches together.

Always stay safe when photographing at the roadside & respect those around you.

Been & collected our new choir gear this morning from the fabulous Maple Workwear & Leisure Clothing.
Amazing turnaround from ordering Wednesday afternoon, was ready to pick up Friday afternoon.

We had our first outing in our super cool polo shirts this morning as 3 of our ladies headed down to Black Country Radio to chat with Billy Spakemon, talking all things Vintage Voices & our phenomenal Remembrance Poppy Cascade at Dudley Canal & Caverns
