Beginners, seasoned poets, or those merely wishing to listen to the moans, groans, or heart pourings of others, are welcome to come along to this friendly monthly event and thoroughly enjoy themselves. Though we have ‘Grande Slam’ in the title of this event, we primarily want this night to be somewhere you can try out your work and maybe receive some feedback in front of an audience. Our aim is to
also invite a more experienced poet each month to come along and voice their wares for our enjoyment and inspiration. Your hosts on these evenings will be the ever jolly pair ‘Mr Renaissance Man’ and ‘Willis Cardigan Fanaticus’
There are 12 slots to be taken up each evening, 4 of which will be on the basis of first come first serve, and the rules are simple:
1. Let us know you want a slot using this page.
2. Bring your poem of no more than 3minutes in length.
3. Pick your favourite performance of the night using our voting slips provided.
4. Be supportive of performers and give them some applause.
5. Please be generous enough to make the suggested donation of £2. Winners of the audiences favour will win the coveted ‘Rubber Reggie’ (a squeaky toy) at the end of each night.
