Quick update for our artists:
Our Arts Council bid wasn’t successful, but we’re pressing on. The festival was always about the visual arts first, and that hasn’t changed.
We’ve now secured 10 gazebos for artists who don’t have their own. These will be allocated on a first‑come, first‑served basis, and the pitch fee remains £150. The gazebos have been loaned to us, so we’re keeping costs low to welcome as many artists as possible.
We still have entertainment, music, and children’s/family workshops lined up, and we’re committed to building something sustainable at Himley. We’ll be applying again for funding for the next event.
If you want to be part of the foundation of this festival, we’d love to have you with us.

As an artist, this is my favourite top tip to elevate your practice…

How committing to one event changed everything for me as an artist.
For years I was a parttime artist who kept finding reasons not to create. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I didn’t think I was good enough to stand alongside other artists.
Then one night in a pub, chatting to Lindsay about Leamington Art in the Park, I said, “If your gazebo partner doesn’t do it this year, I will.” Seconds later she got a text saying they’d dropped out. She looked at me and said, “You’re in.”
That moment forced me to stop doubting and start making.
I spent the whole summer in the studio, pushing through the blank days, the selfdoubt, the pressure I’d put on myself. Slowly, I built a body of work I was genuinely proud of. By the time the festival arrived, I felt more confident, more focused, and more like an artist than I ever had.
That one commitment changed the direction of my practice. Since then I’ve done multiple Leamington AITP festivals and organised five events of my own, all because I said yes before I felt ready.
If you’re thinking about exhibiting but your confidence is holding you back, I get it. But sometimes the growth comes after the commitment. And if you’ve got the passion to create, it’s worth it.
We’ve been through it ourselves, and we’ll support you every step of the way. email [email protected] for further details and an application form.

Meet the organisers part 2.
I’m Lindsay and I’ve been working in the arts for over 20 years. I’m primarily a landscape painter working in oils which I exhibit and sell but I also run workshops, work in community arts and organise arts events. I firmly believe that the arts should be accessible for all and Himley Art in the Park is a place where artists and visitors can meet, gain inspiration from each other and enjoy a weekend of creativity together.
So if you’d like to join us at our fabulous new festival and would like more info email [email protected]

Meet the organisers. I’m Jacky, an artist, a printmaker, and someone who’s been part of the local visual arts scene for years. I’ve organised events, exhibited, lugged boxes, set up gazebos in the rain, chatted to visitors, and had those lovely moments where someone appreciates your work.
That’s the feeling I want for Himley Art in the Park... friendly, supportive, creative, and full of those little conversations that stay with you long after the day is over.
Whether you’ve been exhibiting for years or you’ve thought about it but never quite taken the leap, Himley Art in the Park is the perfect place to try. A relaxed festival, friendly faces, and a chance to share your work with people who genuinely enjoy talking about art. For more info and an application form, email [email protected]
