Hi everyone

We’re currently enjoying a bit of summer down time… enduring the heat and recharging for an exciting looking programme of workshops and events through autumn… as well as our three-day summer school next week! 🌞

Our next one-day workshop is ’LINOCUT with CHINE COLLÉ’ happening on Saturday 3rd October and we’ve got one place left… details below:

In a small group setting with print tutor N I C H O L A G O F F you will go through the basics of the linocut process from design, carving, registering your print and using the Albion relief printing press to produce unique hand-made relief prints.

You will also learn how to add colour to your prints using the chine collé technique. Chine collé is a method of incorporating light weight papers such as coloured tissue or cut-outs from newspapers to a print allowing for a wide scope of added possibilities to just one printing plate.

You will produce:

A small set of hand-made lino prints and a lino block you can print from again and again.

This course also works as an induction to the print workshop for anyone who wants to use open access for relief printing and those who want to refresh their skills.

Limited to 4 participants | Suitable for all abilities.

The making of the INKED Print Festival community print with Rosanna Morris Printmaker 💚 Story below ⬇️
In the run up to the Inked Festival last year we had a wonderful day in the studio where lots of people turned up and helped us create a large scale print to celebrate the beauty of printmaking.
Many many hands carved jigsaw pieces of lino following a design skilfully created by Rosanna… the design shows printmaking tools and hands working with them… these were carved out with care and background textures added by everyone who worked on the lino blocks.
The day was a beautiful hub of connecting, making, laughing and working together.
The result is a lively wonderful collaboration of many people making different parts to create the whole. Which is often the way with printmaking.
The piece was printed by hand at the Festival in November, again by many hands.
We have finally had a chance to print the finished artwork on Rosanna’s beautiful big press at her studio in Bristol to get a lovely solid print, bringing the final pieces of the puzzle together :-)
➡️ Take a look in stories to see the fabulous finished results! They look so good!
The plan is to auction these off once they are dry along with the originals printed at the fair in an online auction where you can potentially get yourself one of these for a bargain!
All proceeeds of the auction will go towards our upcoming fundraiser to raise money to service the presses and restore the equipment in the studio.
Watch this space for news of both things coming soon! 👀

Big thanks to everyone who helped make this wonderful artwork, there were lots more people involved who are not in these pics… 🙏

Also watch out for Inked Print Festival 2027… where we’ll be celebrating ‘The power of Print’!
