Experience the beauty of working with colour direct from the earth and our local industrial iron rich landscape in the Forest of Dean.
Learn how to grind, sieve and mix raw natural pigment to make watercolour paints and etching inks.

Participants take home a set of hand-made watercolour paints and etching inks to be used at home, as well as a small series of monotype prints made with the earth pigment ink.

Post 2 of 2 ✨ Reflections ✨

It feels like a good time to reflect back at the wonderful two days we had last November at the inaugural Forest of Dean Inked Print Fair! 💙

We’re still not totally sure how we mixed the right ingredients to create this event but it really was such a wonderful couple of days. The atmosphere in the hall was just magic.

Soo many absolute legends in one room! We are very grateful to everyone who took part and got involved, bringing their own flavour of print beauty and enthusiasm, making it a buzzing event for all.

It was especially lovely to see this happening in the Forest of Dean where you just don’t get so much of this sort of thing.

Thanks everyone!

We’re working on plans for another in 2027! 🤞🔥🤞

In the meantime time enjoy these wonderful photos of the fair!

I had a really lovely time yesterday teaching woodblock printing with earth pigments to a fabulous group at in Abergavenny 💚

As happens with the best of workshop days I mostly fail to take any decent pics. :-)

There were so many wonderful prints made, lots of fun experimenting, an amazing space, very nice little printing press, great hosts and super tasty lunch 😋

A joyous day!

Our lovely Redbrook community printing venue is raising funds to improve the space… Support them if you can it’s a brilliant community space ♥️

Installing a kitchen at Redbrook church to enable more community use and finishing repairs needed to come off the Heritage at Risk list.

We have two places left on this fantastic one-day introduction to block printing on fabric with Jess Rayson

Happening very soon at The Yard!

Jess will be sharing her wonderful knowledge and skills on lino printing on fabric.

Jess designs, carves, hand-prints and sews all of her beautiful unique homewares and artworks.

Spend the day with Jess learning this wonderful process on Friday 22nd May 10.30am - 4.30pm

Cost: £95 includes all materials and the apron.

This course is suitable for beginners and also those with some experience. Participants will also take home their lino block which can be used again to print at home.

Limited to 5 participants and we still have a few places available…
