Whose Brine Is It Anyway?

Whose Brine Is It Anyway? Droitwich Spa's Premier (OK, only) Improv Group! Whose Brine Is It Anyway? We’re a group for anyone interested in learning new improv skills. We’re not salty!

The name is a tribute to the classic TV show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” featuring top improvisers and comics doing short-form sketches. The “Brine” part is distinctively Droitwich, celebrating our heritage as a salt producing town since at least Roman times. What is this improv all about then? Improv is the only theatrical form where the moment of inspiration, the moment of creation, and the momen

t of performance are all the same moment. Improv encourages creative wordplay, increases confidence, alleviates public speaking anxiety, and makes presentations pop - as well as being a fantastic tool for actors, presenters, YouTubers, TikTokers, and anyone who needs to speak to other folks. Improv can be funny, serious, short-form (little sketches) or long-form (a whole play) or anything in-between, even a made-up musical or spontaneous songs. Come and Join Us! Come and play with us: All are welcome, regardless of skill level, experience, age*, or gender. There will be no pressure to perform in live shows or in front of an audience (but it will be an option!)

Where? We don't know yet, but we're investigating options: WATCH THIS SPACE! Contact: [email protected]

Apologies for the radio silence - but we're still here & hoping to revitalise the IMPROV WORKSHOPS for 2026.

IYKYK, but our organiser has had QUITE the busy time of it recently, and simply hasn't had the time do drive the improv SESSIONS forwards. Fingers crossed that 2026 finds some spare time, some additional assistance, and some regular improv sessions.

Who knows, maybe 2026 is our year to finally represent local improv talent at the The Rik Mayall Comedy Festival!!!

Spread the word... let's get as many folks as possible excited about Droitwich's very own improv troupe!

WE NEED A NEW HOME! The Repair Café needs a new home for 2025: suggestions please!

"Must have" requirements are:

We need somewhere CENTRAL and easy to access via PUBLIC TRANSPORT... or within easy walking distance (we have a lot of visitors with limited mobility).

It needs to be CHEAP (we're funded entirely on donations).

It needs good lighting, accessible power sockets, and enough space to set up our tools and have space for visitors to sit and wait (a kitchen is a bonus so we can make folks a cuppa).

Comment below, or drop us a line to: [email protected]

We've got a couple of ideas, but your suggestions are welcome so we can add them to the list! Thank you.

Hello everyone! Apologies for the radio silence recently... I've been super-busy with a new university course and many work commitments, and simply haven't had enough time to devote to the fun stuff like improv!

With the Rik Mayall Comedy Festival firmly in the diary for 2025, we should really be thinking about getting up to speed... https://www.rikmayallcomedyfestival.com/

We need to rekindle the "Yes, and..." energy - and soon! If we want to represent at the fest, we've got six months to get a show together, so who's ready?

Would anyone care to take the reigns for a workshop or two? Does anyone have time to start brandishing the improv whip to get us all organised?

With the elections coming up, keep an eye on the politicians' speeches and debates... the perfect place to learn a few improv games:

Party Quirks (but which party has which quirk?)

Can you think of any more games the candidates play?

Great practice session this evening: here we are in the middle of the great improv classic "Party Quirks". Thanks to Laura for a fun and often hilarious session! We learned X-***ed posters are better than beige wallpaper, and why you shouldn't get Resusci-Anne deliveries mixed up :D Norbury Theatre & Cinema
