What a lovely way to end the week, spending the morning in forest school with our nursery daddies for our Father’s Day forest school activity session. It was so lovely to see the children’s faces light up when their daddies arrived and wonderful to watch them taking part in lots of fun activities with their daddies. Happy Father’s Day to all our nursery daddies!😀

We had a wonderful time at forest school this week, learning all about birds.🪹🪶 We made our very own birds nests and binoculars to go bird spotting with. The children enjoyed crossing off birds they spotted at forest school on their bird identification sheet and learning the names of the birds. We listened to the sounds the different birds were making and tried to guess which birds were creating those sounds.

What a magical moment we had yesterday, releasing our 5 butterflies that we have watched grow from tiny caterpillars.🐛🦋 A huge thank you to one of our nursery parents for providing such a wonderful learning experience for our children. We have loved each week watching the different stages happening. It was smiles all round on Monday when we arrived at nursery to 4 butterflies fluttering around and during the day we celebrated when the final one emerged. To see the children’s faces when we watched them fly up into the air yesterday was priceless! 🐛🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🎉

We have loved using the story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ to inspire our learning this week. Planting beans, the life cycle of a bean, buying cows with magic beans, counting the giants gold, making up Fee Fi Fo Fum rhythms, ordering beanstalks by height, leaf name writing and measuring each other using runner and fine beans were just a few of the fun activities the children have taken part in. We can’t wait for more exciting learning to take place next week which will be inspired by the story ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’.

Wrens and Robins had a wonderful time joining together, to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday! 🎂

Wrens had a wonderful day visiting Lower Smite farm and learning all about mini-beasts and their habitats. Hayley and Jo taught us lots of new words and mini-beast facts and provided us with lots of lovely activities throughout the day! 🐛🦋🐞🐜🪲🕷️ www.worcswildlifetrust.co.uk

Butterflies were our focus this week and our Wicked Word was symmetrical! 🦋 The children have spent the week exploring the meaning of this word and participating in a range of butterfly themed activities.
