Not gossip! But drama classes for P4 - P7 & Year 8 - Year 10 aged kids in our Role With It drama workshops! We have some spaces available in each class so get in touch to book for your kids today, they are so much fun!!

Our Creative STEPS programme starts with Brazilian samba drumming! A few spaces available for this so get in touch to book yours!

Starting on Monday 7th September at 7:30pm. Sessions are free but donations are welcome.

Honestly, a great way to socialise, get a good work out and shower the head. Come on ahead!! You don't have to be a musician to take part!

Also…we will be drumming our way around Derry for their 40th Halloween celebrations, so there is the opportunity to take part in that!

JULY ROUNDUP ☀️

Last month, 126 young people continued their music education with us throughout the summer.

A massive congratulations to everyone who completed grades in guitar, drums, piano and singing. Distinctions all round! (And we’re still waiting on a few results 👀)

Thanks to our tutors Nathan, Fionn, Bronagh, Anna and Einin for all their hard work!

Also in July…

We welcomed Paul Carey for an intensive screenwriting workshop!

Tune Up Tuesdays and Strings & Things kept things strumming along!

Our Small But Massive Samba band brought the beats to M**f for the M**fin Feile!

Our tour van & driver was on the road with The Scratch for their biggest headline gig yet at Iveagh Gardens in Dublin, followed by 2000 Trees Festival in England!

This Sunday at Ballinascreen GAC! For a great cause!

Ballinascreen GAC is delighted to host this fantastic Charity Family Fun Day in aid of Little Heroes, held in memory of Bella-Rosé Moran.

📅 Sunday 9th August
🕛 12pm – 5pm
📍 Ballinascreen GAC

There will be something for everyone, including a funfair, bouncy castles, face painting, vintage vehicles, a car boot sale and much more. Every donation and every show of support will help Little Heroes continue their incredible work with children and families in hospital.

Please come along with your family and friends, enjoy a great day out, and help make a real difference for a very worthy cause. We look forward to seeing you there! 🇱🇻

Huge congratulations to Paul Carey, winner of DNMT New Comedy Writing.

We’re lucky to have him here next week for an intensive 4-day workshop in writing for TV & Film. A couple of spaces have become available, if anyone is interested good people!!

We are thrilled to announce this year's DNMT New Comedy Writing winner and runners-up! Paul Carey has won £1,000 cash prize, alongside a meeting with two comedy industry professionals for his script Near Death. This year’s runners-up Indigo Hinton and Lewis Brierly receive £250 each for their scripts Rat Kings and The Wise Women of Little Pickenham. Thanks to our judges Andy Hamilton, Holly Walsh and Lucy Lumsden, as well as our many readers and, of course, all the brilliant scriptwriters who entered. Congratulations Paul, Indigo and Lewis!

June Highlights!

In June we had a Small But Massive gathering of local businesses, elected representatives including the First Minister and MP for Mid Ulster, funding organisations and special guests to let them know about all the things that go on here at GHQ. More on this to come!

Creative STEPS taster sessions have come to an end. 296 individuals engaged in one or more sessions.
We had sessions in pottery, drama, samba, drum circle, swing dance, set dancing, adult guitar club & music workshops with Ulster Orchestra! We can’t wait to get the full programme running in September, keep an eye out for registration details!

And actually, our guitar club participants couldn’t wait for September so we have kept it running over summer. 😂🤘

We were out with Amble & The Scratch for 9 days of tour services across Ireland this month!
