🎄✨ Studio Sunday: Christmas Jewellery Prep! ✨🎄

It’s another busy Sunday here at Boo’s, and today we’re getting some more Christmas jewellery ready for their new homes!

The printers might have finished their job, but there’s still plenty to do before these little festive creations are ready to go!

Today’s jobs include…
✂️ Cutting the jewellery backing cards
✨ Rounding all those little corners
🐦 Adding chains to the Robin necklaces and assembling the earrings
🎁 Attaching everything to their backing cards
📦 And finally, popping them into their little cellophane bags!

It’s one of those jobs that looks simple, but when you’re preparing lots of jewellery for Christmas, all those little steps certainly add up!

And this is exactly what I was talking about in my recent What Handmade Actually Means Reel. There’s so much more to running a little 3D printing business than just pressing print!

From my original designs to the final packaging, every little detail is prepared with care here at Boo’s.

What does handmade actually mean?
One thing I've noticed is that 3D printing isn't always seen as handmade. After all, isn't it just pressing a button and letting a machine do the work?

Well... not quite!

Here at Boo's, every product has a journey, and there's a lot more happening behind the scenes than you might think.

The Designs — All my jewellery starts with my own ideas and sketches, which I turn into 3D models before printing them.
The Printing — While I also work with designs created by other talented artists, every model is prepared and printed by me, right here in the UK.
The Dragons — My dragons are designed by the talented Cinderwing3D, but I've created their adoption certificates and individual backstories, bringing them into their own little fantasy world.
The Finishing — From removing prints and assembling jewellery to quality checking and packaging, it's all done by me.
The Small Business — Behind every order is one person putting time, creativity and care into making something special.

I don't pretend to design every model I sell, and I'm always happy to celebrate the amazing designers whose work I print.

But I do believe that 3D printing has a place in the handmade world. The printer is simply one of the tools I use to bring products to life.

And with Christmas approaching, I hope this gives you a little glimpse into the person and the process behind the gifts.

The printer might make the layers, but it's the person behind it who makes it special.️

Little gifts don’t have to be boring 🎄🎁

Stocking fillers are one of my favourite kinds of Christmas shopping — those little presents that you weren’t expecting, but somehow end up being some of the most fun things to open!

So forget the emergency socks and shower gel… 😂

🎄✨ From Sketch to Print: Christmas Edition! ✨🎄

A little Christmas magic, straight from the drawing board to the 3D printer! 🪄

One of my favourite parts of running Boo’s is seeing an idea go from a little sketch on my iPad to something I can actually hold in my hands. ❤️

And this time, we’ve got FIVE festive designs making their way from sketch to print!

I’ve been experimenting with a new 3D printer build plate, and it’s giving the designs a gorgeous holographic shimmer! 🌈

The pattern transfers onto the surface of the print, adding a little sparkle without needing glitter or extra finishing. How cool is that?! 😍

Every design starts as an idea, is drawn by me and then brought to life on my 3D printers here in the UK. 🇬🇧

MARKET RECAP #1 | Whitfield Village Hall 3rd October 2026

And just like that… the Christmas market season has officially begun!

It might only be the beginning of October, but people were definitely starting their Christmas shopping! It was so lovely seeing some of my festive makes heading off to new homes — and the Pocket Paws were clearly the stars of the day.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who stopped by the stall, whether you bought something, had a chat, asked about the printers and designs, or simply came over for a look. Every conversation and every purchase means so much to my little business.

This was only the first market of the season, so we’ve got plenty more to come between now and Christmas!
