Isle of Man Festival of Choirs

The Festival of Choirs committee were invited to Douglas City Hall this evening by Mr Councillor Steven Crellin, The Worshipful The Mayor, following the success of this year’s festival. After some light refreshments, we were given a tour of City Hall, taking in its long and distinguished history.

Whilst tinged with Sadness that our Director, Geoff Corkish is no longer with us to share in these proud moments, we celebrate him still and we are fully committed to the future of the Festival of Choirs in his memory.

What makes the Isle of Man Festival of Choirs so unique. Our Friday night Welcome evening in the competition venue. Choirs meet, drink, eat, enjoy each others company, and of course SING!

Local Isle of Man radio Manx Radio and Judith Lay did a lovely piece on this years festival and played the choirs from the final.

Day 2 of the festival!

We start with the Ensemble class at 10am followed by the Choir of the Festival class at 11:45am!

We have just met some of the ladies from the Croatian ensemble Nespula outside the Gaiety theatre. They have all arrived safely and are looking forward to performing tomorrow morning at 10am in the Villa marina Royal Hall. . We hope
You can join us to give them a Rousing welcome along with our other six ensembles.
