Christchurch Music Festival Hosts Official Launch Event at Captain's Club Hotel and Spa.
The team behind Christchurch Music Festival officially launched this year’s event on Friday 12 June, welcoming sponsors, partners, media representatives, local councillors and supporters to an exclusive launch party at the Captain’s Club Hotel & Spa, the festival’s Official Hotel Partner.
Guests were given a preview of what promises to be one of the South Coast’s most exciting events of the summer, with Christchurch Music Festival set to welcome 15,000 festivalgoers to Christchurch Quay from 17–19 July 2026.
The afternoon featured music from festival favourite DJ Martyn The Hat, while the CocoLoco Disco Defender truck was also on display, giving attendees a taste of the vibrant atmosphere planned for the festival weekend. Guests enjoyed canapés and refreshments throughout, before hearing from festival representatives about the exciting plans for this year’s event.
Non-Executive Director Sophie Christy and festival partner Ben Reynolds addressed guests, outlining the vision for the festival and thanking the growing network of local businesses, sponsors and partners helping to bring the event to life.
This year’s line-up features some of the biggest names ever to appear at Christchurch Music Festival, including Trevor Nelson MBE, Toploader, The Real Thing, Heatwave, Damage, Shola Ama, Martin Kemp, Another Level and many more.
Speaking following the event, the festival team expressed their gratitude for the support being shown by the local business community.
“What stood out most was the energy and enthusiasm in the room,” said Sophie Christy. “There is a real sense that Christchurch Music Festival is entering an exciting new chapter, and we’re incredibly grateful to the businesses, partners and supporters helping us create something special for the town.”
With ticket sales continuing to gather momentum and several VIP categories already sold out or running low, organisers say preparations are progressing ahead of schedule.
