With autumn now officially upon us, we've been noticing how many seasonal elements are depicted in our beautiful panels and plasterwork at Pippbrook House.

Today we thought we'd share the attractive acorns that can be spotted in the decorative plasterwork of the Ballroom, as well as in the Morning Room's wooden window shutters and a carved door in the Dining Room. Have you spotted them yet?

With acorns ripening and wildlife foraging them for their winter stores, now is the time to look out for the lovely oak leaves and acorns when you next visit Pippbrook House.

Spend Halloween with us this year with a spooky film screening!

Celebrate Halloween at one of Surrey's most haunted properties, our Victorian mansion Pippbrook House, with a special screening of period mystery drama The Others (2001) 👻

Ideally suited to Pippbrook House's gothic surroundings and starring Nicole Kidman, Fionnula Flanagan and Christopher Eccleston, the film tells the story of a mother who attempts to protect her two photosensitive children in their large deserted mansion, yet begins to fear that the place may be haunted...

🦇 The Others will be showing at Pippbrook House on Saturday 31 October at 7.30pm. To book your tickets and celebrate Halloween in spooky style, visit dorkinghalls.co.uk/event-detail/?id=615802AJHMTDNLBMRJPPBSBJRKPVRSQVS or call the Box Office on 01306 881717.

Coming up this Friday!

Join us next Friday 25 September 7:30pm in Pippbrook House for Old Herbaceous.

Described as “Downton Abbey with gardening tips”, Old Herbaceous is the humorous love story of a single-minded yet gentle man with a passion for plants and is a charming one man play which has entranced sell-out audiences all around the country over the last eight years.

An acute and sometimes hilarious observation of relationships between the classes in a simpler age, Old Herbaceous is sprinkled with witticisms and epithets. The evening blossoms into tender humour, much in the traditionally understated English style of the early 20th century. Keeping you engrossed, amused and emotionally engaged from start to finish, Old Herbaceous will leave you with a feeling that, perhaps, all’s right with the world.

When you next visit Pippbook House, keep an eye out for our unique wood carvings; they're one of the many special things about our Victorian mansion.

Whether it's in the hand-carved doors, the detail of the window shutters or the beautiful beams of the spectacular Ballroom, you might spot initials, flowers, foliage - and even one or two little creatures!
