The future of Phoenix Odyssey Choir was sent out to members a couple of days ago and the response has been very positive. Thank you you so much to those who have taken the time to get in touch. We’ve had suggestions, encouragement and - even where the new format doesn’t suit members - you have largely been supportive of our new direction.
So, for those who haven’t yet attended a session…what’s going on?
2 or 3 times a year we will be running a block of 3 longer ‘workshop’ type sessions where we will spend each evening learning a few songs, with a break in the middle for a tea/chat. The sheet music would be sent out in advance so that everyone can familiarise themselves with it beforehand, allowing us to focus on dynamics, any trickier parts and polishing rather than breaking down the music into sections. We are planning to put on one performance each year where you can show off how wonderful you sound.
We are planning to kick this off with a one off Christmas session, singing a mix of our favourite songs and carols.
