The Wild Choir Dorking

The Wild Choir Dorking A friendly and slightly wild choir singing strong harmony arrangements of music that moves us. Everyone is welcome. Tuesdays 7-8:30pm. Songs are taught by ear.

We are a friendly and slightly wild choir who sing strong harmony arrangements of music that moves us. We love music that you might call folk from diverse cultures and traditions. We sing to the seasons, the elements and with our hearts. All levels of singing ability are welcome. We are the choir that was formally known as The Birch Tree Folk Choir Dorking. Sessions are lead by Natural Voice Choir

leader Philippa Snell and run during term times. Philippa firmly believes that everyone with a voice can sing and that making music together is connecting, uplifting and good for the soul.

We have some cracking songs and are doing a concert on July 4th with local Djembe drummers Kaira Kafo, then 2 more weeks of luscious things including a bit of deeply connecting collaborative vocal improv. Here is a a group of us earlier in the month going out to hear Jules improvise on his guitar with a nightingale.

In just a few weeks I'm starting a new series of seasonal offerings in a beautiful location hidden in the trees. A walk, a fire, tea, home-made cake and songs. We'll be singing a very special and ancient Brigid song and reflecting on its meaning in these times. Places limited, booking on website www.thewildchoir.com
