Activate Performing Arts are the Producers of Inside Out Dorset - and we're looking for a new Projects Assistant to join our team.

We're looking for a Projects Assistant to join our team here in Dorchester.

If you are as passionate about performance as we are, and you have always wanted an opportunity to help make things happen, then this could be the role for you.

👉You'll support the team with events, workshops and community engagement projects
👉You'll be doing things like creating event schedules, contacting local businesses and taking photos at our events
👉You'll have the opportunity to shadow team members including our Producers

This role is part of the Artswork Breakthrough Scheme so you'll need to be aged 18-25 and eligible to apply under the Breakthrough criteria. As part of the scheme you receive training and a mentor. The post is for 6 months from September 2026-March 2027.

From the Producers of Inside Out Dorset...

Make sure you're in Weymouth on 24-26 September 2026 as we present 'Wave', an immersive light and sound installation by squidsoup, as part of Dusk til Dark by We Are Weymouth UK.

Each of the 500 suspended orbs contains LED lights, a speaker and microcomputer, with movement sensor and wireless connectivity. As you move through the artwork, the orbs shift in harmonies of sound and light resulting in a calming and sensory experience.

‘Wave’ will offer you a moment of escape – a peaceful sanctuary in an increasingly chaotic world.

You may have seen Tilly Ingram at Inside Out Dorset 2023 when she was commissioned as part of our 'Soup and a Story' programme in Bere Regis.

Activate, the producers of Inside Out Dorset, have supported her development over the last few years and now tour her new work THE HiDE. It's right here in Dorset next weekend (Saturday 14 February) at Careys Secret Garden Migration Festival.
