These items have been left at the Balloon Festival this weekend.

Balloon Ascent Update.....

As I'm sure you can feel on site, unfortunately it is too windy for the balloons to fly this evening. The wind speeds are well above the balloons safe operating limits and the safety of all is paramount.

The night glow will be with baskets only.

Whilst we appreciate that this is disappointing for all (including the pilots), the Balloon Directors decision is final.

Still on tonight………
Stuntworld International at 8pm
Night Glow at 9.15pm
Fireworks Finale at 9.45pm

Balloon Update.
Our pilot briefing is taking place this evening at 18.00, where the final decision will be made on this evening's launch.

The Jump Dog Parachute Team will unfortunately not be able to jump into the arena today.

The current upper winds are over 30mph and this is out of the safe parameters of what they can jump safely in.

As stated, all balloon and aerial activity is always weather dependant, and the upper winds are too gusty today for them to jump.

Balloon Ascent Update..........

The Balloon Director has had his briefing with the pilots and unfortunately it is too windy for the balloons to fly this evening, with gusts exceeding 20 knots, which is above the safe operating limits for the balloons.

With the winds not due to drop in time, it does also mean that the night glow this evening will be with baskets only. Whilst we know that this is disappointing for all (including the pilots that have travelled countrywide to be here), but the safety of all is paramount.

The Balloon Director will be having his briefing with his pilots at 6.30pm, to determine whether it is safe to fly tonight.
We will update you on the event site and on Facebook, once his final decision has been made.

Pre-Paid Car Parking.

Unlike aircraft, hot air balloons rely on calm weather. Strong winds or changing conditions can make launching unsafe. Our experienced pilots make the decision based entirely on safety! We always keep our eye on the weather and the final decision is made just before the planned launch.
