Fiona Cahill is an artist, activist and carer living in South Yorkshire. From a line of Irish single mothers her work explores institutional abuse, politics, grief and the power of the natural world to overcome separation and containment. Having presented her first exhibition, Rendition, at ArtBomb Fiona is currently touring her own solo show and her work can be seen now in The National Museum of Ireland in the ‘Changing Ireland’ gallery.

On Friday 4th September, Fiona will host an introductory session to auto-cartography, an artistic framework used to map one’s heritage and psychological or cultural geography, through paper-making. Using organic materials found in the courtyard such as leaves, bark, soils & flowers, Fiona will show you how to make your own paper from homemade paper pulp, curly cress seeds, nettle twine and a sewing needle.

SECRETS is an LGBTQIA+ recovery art exhibition bringing those experiences into the light through creativity, honesty and community.

A space to explore identity, addiction, recovery, belonging, shame, freedom, survival and everything that exists in between.

Because recovery isn’t one story.
It isn’t one identity.
And nobody should have to hide who they are to find their way home.

A CROSSROADS: URBAN WALK IN DONCASTER

What can something as ordinary as crossing a road tell us about control, freedom and the way we move through the world?

Join internationally exhibited artist and Central Saint Martins lecturer Mark Farid, alongside Doncaster Ramblers, for At a Crossroads, a unique urban walk through Doncaster exploring the invisible rules, boundaries and systems that shape our everyday lives.

From rural edges to the town centre, we’ll notice the things we usually walk straight past: fences, signs, private land, access rights, road design and pedestrian crossings, asking where choice ends and obedience begins.

The walk will pause at ArtBomb for lunch and a group conversation about what we’ve noticed along the way, before looping back to where we started.

Our little courtyard is becoming something so much bigger.

Over the next few months we’ll be sharing the journey of Oasis: Rooted in Place as we transform this space into a welcoming, community-led oasis in the heart of Doncaster.

A place to grow food, grow confidence, make art, meet people, learn new skills and simply belong.

What started with conversations, music, creativity and community at ArtBomb Festival has grown into a shared vision for a space where everyone is welcome.

We can’t wait to take you behind the scenes and show you every step of the transformation. 🌱
