Ok this is a long one. But here's the final installment of the Pineapple saga.... for now at least. Lots of rambling lots of noodling but some actual sound samples too

Ok its been an age, and spoiler alert things have moved on. I've been slack with my video updates. I have finally got some time whilst on holiday to edit some of this nonsense. I've deleted the 45mins of waffle about fret work. I chose narrow frets, I think it was a poor choice. Let's leave it at that!
Anyhow here's one from 2 weeks ago when temps dropped enough to do a bit of work in the shed.

Well it's been a little while.
The last couple of months have been super busy with various things, and the heat waves haven't helped. With temps in the workshop exceeding 40degrees at times I really haven't been able to do much at all.

Here's a quick update.

No real update today because Monday and Tuesdays are uke playing nights! However since we are getting towards the exciting end of the build I thought I'd share some snaps of whats to come.

The end is hopefully in sight. Still left to do:

Install the frets (expect an extremely long and boring video diatribe on how, what and why of fretting).

Glue the faceplate to the headstock.

Glue the fretboard to the neck.

Glue bridge to body.

Temporarily Attach neck to body and string up.

Fettle neck profile, heel alignment, bracing, and pickup placement.

Remove neck and glue on back.

Sand, fill and finish everything.

Glue on neck.

Restring and play.

Todays update, some waffle about inlays, a lot of sanding and the reason why my finger tips are brown!

Progress ..followed by ..disaster... follow by... recovery = maybe ok?

Today's update, well, the result of many days' work really, but it's another example of my ambition outweighing my skill.

However with some perseverance, and a lot of time and head scratching I have a passable result.

Rosewood, mahogany and paua shell butt graft complete.

I didn't manage to post this enthralling update yesterday, it was midnight by the time I'd finished unpacking from our gig.... so some Sunday morning content to send you back to sleep.

Be warned this one is especially dull and long. 20mins of oiling and epoxy pore filling!

What better entertainment for a Friday evening, 10minutes of watching glue dry......
And I even posted it before 1am!

It's been a few weeks since I posted any pineapple progress. But fear not there has been plenty going on, but i was a little busy with Easter holidays, making silly videos, oh and hosting 3 of the UKs top ukulele luthiers, butchering the solo for Johnny B goode, taking part in a sea shanty and generally just having a great time at our first Big Ukulele Day festival!

I have a bunch of updates ready but this first one is from 3 weeks ago and is quite long and rambling but is a significant step forward on one of the tasks that had been challenging me.
