Imprints is a band I've been involved with for about 15 years, making music at very slow and intermittent pace. We use Liminal Audio as a place to throw ideas around and, very occasionally, make albums 🙂

Been a lot of back and forth with the alt monitor situation but have finally gone full circle, finding comfort in my trusty Adam A7 mk1s. These were my first proper monitors, I got my hands on the first shipment to land in the UK (2010? ish?). They deliver something completely different to my ATCs, and isn't that the point of alts? The ART tweeters still sounds super crispy and detailed, great for digging into reverb tails and the such.

Lately I've been on a quest for some small Alt monitors. Got these interesting (very red) Angry Boxes from on demo from
Well, they certainly are a capable mix cube. If you wanna go deep with testing your mids then they have plenty to say. Impressive transients and create a surprisingly full stereo image.
Think I'll be having a few sessions with these over the holidays 🤔

To start the series on building Liminal Audio let's cover soundproofing. This was a big job, to say the least. Lots of heavy materials, hard labour and forward planning is needed to make an effective soundproofed room.
Working with 3 main principles throughout the process is critical to the success of any soundproofing project.
