Ducks are such fun and peculiar animals to paint. The more you look at them, it just feels like they're missing arms or something...I know their wings are behind them but they just seem to defy physics haha.

I always find breaking down drawings into shapes quite a fool-proof method of sketching out paintings.
I use this method when running my watercolour classes and my students find this a really helpful way of drawing; it also challenges me to spot shapes in my reference pictures which is sometimes easier said than done.

Did anyone else spot a diamond shape with the way the puffin is stood?
