Barry Carlin is Co-Founder and CEO of HeadDial, a Derry/Londonderry based sports technology company building a Voice AI system that measures, tracks and trains mental performance for elite squads. Each athlete receives personalised performance psychology and Olympic-standard mental imagery audio interventions, while psychology and performance staff gain mental performance data that sits alongside physical performance data for the first ever time. HeadDial is currently used by Ulster Rugby, the RFU, the GAA, Irish Men’s Hockey during the current World Cup, and Sport Ireland Institute.
Barry is a clinical and sports CBT hypnotherapist & psychotherapist, working 1:1 with athletes and clients through his private practice, Settle Your Head.

Having experienced first-hand the impossibility of scaling one-to-one performance psychology & personalised PETTLEP-based mental imagery audio, Barry founded HeadDial to bring truly personalised mental performance interventions to entire squads & academies. We’re delighted to announce William McColgan, Director of McColgan’s, will be joining us at Innofest 2026! 🥂

Williams Career began as a trainee actuarial consultant with Mercer in Dublin and segued into the technology of actuarial valuations, a role which took him from Dublin to Germany to America. Whilst working as a Partner with Mercer in Philadelphia, William emerged from the Wharton School with an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management. A move to Boston followed with roles in the Insurance industry, as well as 5 years growing a Princeton-spun-out ed-Tech artificial intelligence start-up. William returned to Ireland in 2020 when he and his sister purchased a family business established by their grandfather. This transaction completed in 2022 and they have been transforming the company through culture, process, and technology initiatives since then.
