Kate McCafferty TCRG The McCloskey School of Irish Dancers have won many Regional Irish Dancing Championships both solo dancing and team dancing and we have recently gained an Ulster champion and a World Champion in 2012! In 20

13, Nuala McCafferty TCRG joined our school as a teacher and we changed our name to The McCloskey McCafferty Academy of Irish Dance. Since then, we have gained yet another Ulster Champion and are continuing to win more and more Regional Championships! Dancers from our academy are continuously taking part in many events throughout the year, including wedding performances, public performances and have previously been involved with Dance Fusion, a dance act created to entertain at various City of Culture 2013 events, mixing Irish Dance with Hip Hop. They had so much fun! The McCloskey McCafferty Academy is in full swing and continuing to grow, as teachers Colleen & Nuala work amazingly together and bring the very best of Irish Dance out of any girl or boy who decides to join their school! Before you step on that stage at the Worlds, you need to have a conversation.

Not with your teacher.
Not with your parents.
Not with the adjudicators.
Not with the audience.

With that voice in your head.

The one whispering: “Don’t mess up.”
“Be careful.”
“Don’t let anyone down.”
“What if you disappoint them?”

Tell it this:

“Take a seat. I’ll speak to you when I come off stage.”
Because that voice has no place under the lights.
That stage is not for fear.
It’s not for doubt.
It’s not for trying to please everyone.

That stage is prepared for the version of you who has trained for thousands of hours.
For the early mornings.
For the sore feet.
For the repetition.
For the resilience.

You have two minutes.
Two minutes to show the world who you are.
Two minutes to let your hard work speak.
Two minutes to let the rhythm beat through your chest and the steps pulse through your bloodstream.
