There are concerts… and then there are evenings that feel like stepping into a candlelit chapel somewhere in 17th-century France, where every note hangs in the air like incense.

We are honoured to host Sestina Music for a deeply reflective Passiontide programme:
🌙 Out of Darkness 🌙

Centred on François Couperin’s Leçons de Ténèbres, this is music written for the solemn hush of Holy Week — expressive, intense, and luminously beautiful. Alongside Couperin, the programme weaves together works by Purcell, Charpentier and Monteverdi, exploring grief, reflection, worship and hope.

In that quiet space between shadow and light, this music connects the heavenly with the human in a way few programmes can. It promises to be intimate, powerful, and profoundly moving.

🎶 Friday 6th March, 7pm
📍 Christ Church, Derry/Londonderry
🎟 Tickets available via Sestina Music: https://ti.to/sestina-music/out-of-darkness-musical-reflections-at-passiontide-copy

Performers:

Aisling Kenny & Charlotte O’Hare (Sopranos)
Reiko Ichise (Viola da Gamba)
Tristan Russcher (Harpsichord)

Do join us for what will be a very special evening in Christ Church.
