Letters are taking over at Messy Play this week… 🔤✨

But before anyone imagines little ones sat at tables practising letters & handwriting, that’s not quite how we do things around here 😏

We’ll be exploring letters through messy play, sensory experiences and hands-on fun because early literacy starts long before children ever pick up a pencil.

This week’s theme is all about:

🔤 recognising letters
✨ communication and language
🎨 sensory exploration and creativity
💛 learning through play in the way children do best

From babies exploring new textures to preschoolers beginning to spot familiar letters in their name, every child joins in at their own stage and in their own way.

Come ready to play, explore and make a glorious mess.

Well, that week flew by! Anyone else? 😅

Maybe it didn’t fly by for everyone, but I’m currently attempting to crawl out of my little half-term hole 🥰.

I’ve spent mine surviving endless snack requests, cupboards that somehow became instantly bare thanks to the teenagers, mountains of washing, constantly wondering why my house looks like a small hurricane has passed through it... and blinking!

And so here we are, our new term starts TOMORROW 💛🥳

Whilst it might look like children just making a glorious mess, what’s actually happening is soooo much bigger than that.

It's NEVER just a mess 👀

Every single splat, squish, lick and squeal you just scrolled through... That's intentional play in action.

Your child isn't just having fun (although that bit absolutely matters too!), they're building their little brains, making sense of the world and doing the most important work of their entire life.

This is what messy play actually looks like from the inside. and you really do have to see it to believe it.
