Derby Youth Musical Theatre (DYMT) is an established Youth Theatre Company based in Derby. It was created in 2013 by a production team who are all highly experienced in working in musical theatre. In 2013 we produced our very first show 'Our House' to rave reviews and standing ovations!
In 2014 and only our second year as a company, we produced a sell out production of 'Grease' the musical! This was followed by our double award winning production of 'The Phantom of the Opera' in 2015! In 2016 we performed our amazing production of 'Guys & Dolls' which has also been nominated for a NODA award! In 2017 we performed WEST SIDE STORY at the DERBY THEATRE for our 5th anniversary! In 2018 we performed Legally Blonde the Musical which also won Best Musical at NODA. We return to Derby Theatre in 2021 with our latest Production - Bring it On the musical. Tickets are on sale now! The aim of the production team is to offer to young people the opportunity to perform to the highest of standards and to produce, for our audiences, a show of outstanding quality in order to showcase the young talent in the East Midlands area.
