Yesterday was an evening of celebration, as it was our awards night. It was time to reflect on the past year and give out our big awards.
First was The Kay Morland Award, for recognition of achievements by a young member. We were delighted to hand this award to Lilly-Rose. Lilly joined us a few years ago starting in the kids group. She has grown in not only height, but confidence and maturity. Always getting involved, making new friends, with most importantly a smile on her face. Lilly has now graduated into the teens group. Well done Lilly!
Our second award we created this year, The Legency Award, for recognition of achievements by an adult. The winner of this was Ruby. Ruby joined us a few years ago as a member of the teens group. As she has progressed with the group , she has taken on production roles, including choreography and more recently designing our posters and programmes. This week Ruby was voted onto the committee taking on the role of publicity.
Finally, The Robert Cook Award for Outstanding Contribution, went to two very special people, Claire & Will.
You might not have seen these two on stage, but you will have seen them both at the back of the hall behind the tech desk.
A few years ago we had very little tech, no head mics and basic lighting. Now the tech has been transformed, we can now all be seen and heard and even have smoke machines and what ever else Will can come up with (budget permitting). Making our shows bigger and better. Sadly Treasure Island was Claire and Will last show with us, but they are leaving us in a good place. Thank you Will and Claire for your dedication and commitment, you shall be greatly missed.
Thank you Victory Club for hosting our event.
