🎉FILIPINO OPEN MIC @ Dubrek Studios🎉

What a successful night of music and interaction as Filipino musicians in Derby came together for our first Filipino Open Mic hosted by Dubrek Studios. It was an amazing evening as talents showcase their performances to their families, friends and colleague, and fellow Pinoys.

The evening started with acoustic set of Eric, who works at Royal Derby Hospital, blazing mix of Filipino and English music. Next was DBP’s OG talents, Angel & Kate showcasing their intimate acoustic gig from Taylor Swift to Juan Karlos covers.

Then an open jam ensued, mixing talents across all instruments with a rendition of Summer of 69. After which, T-Sha band rocked the stage with their Paramore and OPM renditions.

Multi-instrumentalist Aaron Cabada next took his looping performance to the next level, making the crowd sing to his tunes. Father & Son, Gerson & Marcus Rupac also performed their GNR covers then jamming with Yhun & Friends afterwards.

The evening took a chill segway with New Jersey-based Lana performing her acoustic melodies captivating the crowd. She is currently studying Music Therapy at University of Derby and is glad to meet fellow Filipinos here in the area.

Before the event finished, DBP organiser and Derby Arts Festival singing champion Jerry Leysa offered a romantic ballad for his wife. The evening ended with the rocking tunes of AYA Band who debuted their original song as well.

Shoutout to kuya Joel Cabada for doing the audio engineer for the night and for Dave of Dubrek for being kind in assisting us in this successful open mic. Thank to all who came and supported and we hope to see you again soon for another musical event.

☀️💃 Dancing through the summer heat! 🇵🇭✨

Our amazing DBP Dancers brought the energy to the Birmingham Barrio Fiesta, performing “Salamin, Salamin” by BINI and showing that nothing—not even the summer heat—could stop them from giving their all!

We’re incredibly proud of our young performers, who continue to dedicate their time to rehearsals and proudly represent Derby Bayanihan Productions while celebrating Filipino culture through dance. Their smiles, confidence, and passion lit up the stage and had the crowd cheering along.

A huge thank you to our dedicated dance coaches, supportive parents, and volunteers who continue to encourage our young talents every step of the way. Your commitment helps create opportunities for our children to build confidence, make lasting friendships, and proudly share our Filipino heritage with communities across the UK.
