Country Photographer
Marie Theresa South

Marie enjoys going from an initial idea, to sketches to compose a picture and then moving on to paint, felt, sew or print it. She finds it very satisfying to see an idea come to fruition in a frame! Her inspiration comes from in her surroundings, particularly the Derbyshire countryside and the small village which she lives in, near Ashby de la Zouch. A wide variety of countryside animals and plants influence her work. Marie is also a keen photographer and she finds that photography, printmaking, wet felt making, sewing and painting complement each other.

The Projection of Time
Ziqi Xu

"I work as a full-time editioning printmaker (2022-now). At other times belonging to me, I recreate and reflect on my reality, mostly about my working life – about time, repetition, and pause. I want to see myself clearly in this world. I like touching things with my hands. In my recent works, I make drawings and etchings of myself, my colleagues, and my workplace, to investigate the position of industrial female workers."

John Purcell Paper continue to expand the extensive range of papers and boards that are available from stock from their south London warehouse.

Winter Moon
Matthew Fullwood

"While my work is based on observation, I’m not aiming for realism. I’m more interested in creating images that feel slightly mysterious or open to interpretation. There’s often a sense of tension or watchfulness, as if something is about to, or has just happened. Working in a small, self-contained space suits my approach. The repetitive nature of printmaking; carving, etching, inking and printing, helps me slow down and really focus on the subject matter. This way of working feeds into the mood of the prints themselves."

Ironbridge Fine Arts is a family-run business located in Ironbridge Gorge, Shropshire, featuring a fine art gallery, a specialist printmaking studio, and a premier framing workshop. Known for hosting exhibitions of local and international artists, they also manufacture the renowned “Gunning Etching Press” used globally.
