We just want to say a huge **THANK YOU!** to the people of Derby.
Opening our arcade has been quite a journey. There were so many ups, downs and rejections along the way that there were plenty of times we genuinely thought it wasn't going to happen.
After a lot of perseverance and hard work, we've now been open for just over two weeks. The support, encouragement and feedback we've received both positive and constructive has been amazing, and we've embraced it all because it helps us become better at what we do.
We're not perfect, and we're still learning, but we're working as hard as we can to make Continue Arcades Derby the best experience possible. This is our very first arcade, and we've put a huge amount of thought into the types of games we thought our customers would love. We've also got lots more planned over the coming weeks, including a high-score leaderboard for the ultimate bragging rights!
When we decided to open, we never imagined we'd be opening during the hottest weeks of the year. We're investing in a brand-new air conditioning system as soon as the units can be sourced and installed. We also know that a few machines have developed faults after being played almost non-stop since opening. Some have already been repaired, others need replacement parts, but we're working hard behind the scenes to keep as many machines up and running as possible.
One of our favourite things is simply watching people have fun. Even our staff love seeing mums, dads, sons, daughters, grandparents, friends and couples laughing together over games of air hockey. It's amazing how quickly a bit of friendly competition brings out everyone's competitive side!
So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Derby, for supporting us, for being patient with us while we find our feet, and for giving Continue Arcades Derby such an incredible welcome.
We can't wait to show you what we've got planned next. ❤️🎮
