Emma & Wayne | A Wedding With A Difference

Five months before their wedding, Emma and Wayne came to RS Events Derby looking for help to bring their big day together at Derbyshire County Cricket Club

With two full-time jobs, two young daughters and a busy family life, they wanted to enjoy the excitement of getting married without the stress and workload that comes with planning a wedding.

From our very first conversation, one thing was clear this was not going to be a traditional wedding.

Emma and Wayne love Ibiza, festivals, bright colours and having fun, and they wanted their two daughters to play a big part in their special day. So we set about creating a wedding that was completely personal to them.

Our brief covered event planning, styling and entertainment, including:

• Vintage white post box
• Large LED LOVE letters
• Ice cream van
• Giant sweet table
• Inflatable football and basketball
• Inflatable helter skelter
• Live singer performing a bespoke set of the couple’s favourite music
• Live saxophone accompanying the DJ
• Bespoke décor throughout the entrance, ceremony and tables
• Bespoke welcome signage

We also took care of the full set-up and breakdown, meaning Emma and Wayne could simply turn up on their special day and enjoy it with their family and friends.

And their feedback afterwards meant so much to us:

What a way to end our first year! 🇬🇷💃🪩

Our second SOLD OUT Mamma Mia Immersive Dining Experience at Derby Conference Centre and what a success it has been! 💙🤍

This has been our first year working with The Derby Conference Centre on their public ticketed events, and we’re absolutely thrilled that the success of both events has led to the venue rebooking us for 2027. 🎉

And there’s more… next year we’ll also be adding a brand-new Country & Western Immersive Dining Experience to the events schedule! 🤠

For these events, RS Events Derby provides a complete entertainment, AV & décor package, including:

Ending the day feeling relaxed & rejuvenated 🧘‍♀️✨

We recently had the pleasure of creating a corporate wellbeing experience for Valeo Foods at Derbyshire County Cricket Club.

Our client was looking for something a little different for their team — an experience that would allow employees to switch off from the working day, relax, recharge and leave feeling rejuvenated.

We brought together three professional instructors to create a tailored wellbeing programme featuring:

🧘‍♂️ A dedicated male yoga session
🧘‍♀️ A dedicated female yoga session
🔔 A deeply relaxing sound healing bath

A wonderful way to step away from the pace of the working day and focus on wellbeing, mindfulness and relaxation.

At RS Events Derby we love creating bespoke corporate experiences that go beyond the usual team-building activities and give employees something genuinely meaningful to enjoy.

Sunset, Sax & Disco ✨

What better way to celebrate turning 50 than with a spectacular Sunset Party at Whistlewood Common ? 🪩✨

One of our favourite Derbyshire venues, nestled in the beautiful Melbourne countryside, provided the perfect backdrop for Penny & Toby’s celebrations.

Penny came to us to help bring the finer details together, and we absolutely loved creating the finishing touches:

🌿 A lush foliage backdrop with a bespoke neon sign
🪩 A giant disco ball surrounded by an abundance of florals
✨ Large illuminated 50 numbers
💛 Giant inflatable gold balls
🎷 A top-class saxophonist playing House classics alongside the DJ

A gorgeous setting, fabulous styling, incredible music and a whole lot of 50th birthday sparkle!

✨ Celebrating 15 Years of Blend Salon! ✨

Last weekend we had the pleasure of helping our wonderful client celebrate Blend Salon's 15th Anniversary at Belong Bar and what made it even more special is that this was our fourth event together. 💛

Over the years, we've had the privilege of supporting both personal celebrations and business milestones, and it's always an honour when clients come back to us time and time again.

This time, our client was juggling the demands of running a busy salon whilst also moving house. With so much going on, she simply needed an extra pair of hands to bring everything together and that's exactly where we came in.

Following a site visit to the venue, we created a package that perfectly complemented the celebration, including:

🎧 DJ, professional sound system & stylish DJ booth
🍸 Framed personalised cocktail menus
🕶️ A fun station of fans and sunglasses to help guests stay cool in the summer heat

Not every event requires full event management, and that's something we're passionate about. Sometimes all you need is someone to take care of those important finishing touches, coordinate the details, and remove the stress so you can enjoy the occasion.

Our second Motown Brunch at Nicco Restaurant & Bar was another unforgettable evening, with a packed dance floor from start to finish!

For this event, we strive to bring something extra special, so alongside the incredible atmosphere and great food, we supplied a talented five-piece live band featuring two outstanding female vocalists, bass, drums and keys. There’s simply no substitute for that authentic Motown sound, and our musicians looked the part too, dressed to reflect the era that inspired the music we all know and love.

The inspiration for these events came from watching A night at the Proms Northern Soul event at the Royal Albert Hall. Seeing the energy, passion and love for the music reminded us just how popular Motown and Northern Soul remain. We knew we wanted to create something more than a typical DJ event and give people the chance to experience these timeless classics performed live.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success. You are the reason we love what we do. There’s nothing better than seeing people escape for a few hours, singing along, dancing with friends and leaving with smiles on their faces.

What a launch night! ✨

We were delighted to coordinate the entertainment for the launch of After Hours, the brand-new Saturday night experience at Nicco Restaurant & Bar

To create an unforgettable guest journey, we supplied:
🎷 Live saxophone player
🥁 Static and roaming drummer
✨ A stunning pair of dancers in golden goddess costumes
🔥 An elegant fire performer
🎈 Branded helium balloons lining the guest entrance

The atmosphere throughout the evening was electric, and one comment stood out above all others:

“I feel like I’m in Dubai!”

After spending four years in the UAE creating entertainment experiences for some of the world’s most luxurious venues and brands, that was a compliment we were incredibly proud to receive.

Our goal is always to transform an event into an experience that guests remember long after the night is over and this launch certainly delivered.

A recent styling project we were delighted to be part of for Derbyshire County Cricket Club 🏏🌸

We were invited to elevate two VIP hospitality boxes for special guests attending the England Ladies International match, with a particular focus on transforming the outdoor patio spaces into welcoming and stylish areas for guests to enjoy throughout the day.

To create a vibrant and impactful look, we opted for bold, bright florals paired with coordinating outdoor rugs, bringing colour, texture and a premium finish to the spaces. Our team designed and produced four bespoke planters, supplied four topiary trees and installed two outdoor rugs to complete the transformation.

As always, our service included full on-site set up, ensuring everything was perfectly styled and ready for guests’ arrival.

We’re proud to have helped enhance the hospitality experience for such a fantastic event and look forward to working on more exciting venue styling projects in the future.

Here we go again… 💃✨

Our FOURTH Mamma Mia Experience at Nicco Restaurant & Bar and this one hit different. 200 guests, a fully refreshed show, and the energy from start to finish was unreal.

We brought this much-loved brunch back because you asked for it… and you did not disappoint. From singalongs to bingo and our brand new finish the lyrics game, plus a show-stopping stilt walker meet & greet, the room was buzzing all afternoon.
