I thought I would say a little hello and tell you a little bit about how The Granny Square came about and how the discovery of crochet really did save my bacon! ( well - soya based substitute, as a vegetarian of 30 odd years!!! )
Lockdown effected people in many ways, and we all found our own way to cope. For me...it was crocheting, after hours of frustration and hitting the pause and rewind butt
on on YouTube videos I finally cracked it and found my love for Granny Squares! I made blankets galore and found real peace and tranquility - surrounded by balls of wool! Going back to the world of work and my print/business was tough - and my mental health was not in a very good place at all....and so The Granny Square was born! Over the next few months of returning I slowly began transforming the front area of the shop - eventually being able to stock yarn, craft kits, supplies, printed tote bags, needle/hook cases, pin badges, prints - and now I even sell my makes! My next big goal is to be able to find the confidence to be able to put on some workshops! So if you knit, sew, quilt, macramé or crochet...pop in and say hi !!!
