Join 2023 Oram Award winning artist, Natalie Roe for a 3 hour explorative workshop aimed at introducing or developing participants' experience of using sampling in music.

Saturday 10 October 1 - 4pm.

For Women and Gender diverse people.

Throughout the session we will work to build a bank of noises and short clips of music created with the voice and electronic instruments. Led by Natalie Roe, this will be a playful session in developing a Sample pack together, which participants will then be able to take away and use to create with.

She combines acoustic and electronic sounds with other mediums in an array of multidisciplinary projects. She specialises in performing live electronic soundscapes with the Modular Synthesiser which she often uses to manipulate real world sounds.

We hope you enjoyed however you celebrated.
We did so by resting, walking in the countryside and enjoying the company of precious women in our lives.

Continuing the work we do year-round celebrating women and gender diverse artists in sound, we’ve asked to hear from some of our Oram Awards community over the coming weeks, to big-up themselves and artists who have inspired them, past and present.

Daphne Oram was born on 31st December 1925.

Today marks what would have been her official Centenary.

But, in true Daphne style, we do things differently here at the Oram Awards and have been celebrating throughout 2025 and will continue into 2026 on beyond.

More news to come, but we can confirm the return of the open call in 2026 !!!

Happy New Year x
