Oliver Harris & The Collective are coming to the Pie Hall on Friday 18 September, performing the music of Elvis, Elton John, The Beatles, Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond, Tom Jones and more ✨️

Oliver Harris has played Edinburgh Fringe, London's West End, and The Roy Orbison Songbook tour, and he brings a full live band with him, so it's going to be loud, it's going to be fun, and there will absolutely be singalongs and room for dancing!

Did you know that Denby Dale holds a Guinness World Record? 🏆

The 9th Denby Dale Pie - baked on 3 September 1988 and weighing in at 9,030kg - was officially certified as the largest meat pie in the world.

The certificate is right here in Bar 1788, along with other bits of village pie history that are well worth a nosy.

(Yes, the record has since been beaten, but we don't talk about that 😉)

Bar 1788 is open today, 10am–2pm.

Remember! The Big Yellow Chippy Van will be serving up their delicious fresh fish and chips on Friday evening (19 June) outside The Pie Hall from 7pm.

You can grab your chippy tea and eat it in Bar 1788 with a drink, or take it with you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. We know which we'd prefer... 🍻

BAR 1788 OPENING TIMES 🍻

Here's when you'll find us open this week:

🥧 Tuesday 16 June: 10am–2pm
🥧 Thursday 18 June: 10am–2pm
🥧 Friday 19 June: 1pm–close
🥧 Saturday 20 June: 3pm–close

A couple of things happening this week too...

🧶 Our Craft Circle is on Thursday from 11am–1pm. Bring along whatever you're working on, grab a drink and enjoy a couple of hours of good company. No need to book

🐟 On Friday evening, The Big Yellow Chippy Van will be outside serving up fresh fish and chips, so you can grab your tea and enjoy it with a drink in Bar 1788

🧠 On Saturday evening, it's our monthly Quiz Night from 8pm. The bar will be open and it's £2pp (max. 6 people in a team), cash prizes to be won!

As always, we're not just a bar. We serve hot drinks, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks, so you're welcome to pop in for a coffee and a chat, a pint, or a catch-up with friends.

There aren't many bands whose songs are instantly recognisable across generations, but The Eagles are certainly one of them.

On Saturday 25 July, comes to Denby Dale Pie Hall for an evening dedicated to the music of one of the most successful bands of all time.

Expect all the classics, performed live by talented musicians who capture the sound, spirit and harmonies that made The Eagles famous.
