🧵It’s been more than a 9-5 this week, but so excited for the weekend ahead! Deal Town Market tomorrow, and the Walmer Brocante on Monday 🥳

🪺 The new Janome UK atelier 6 machine has been a dream…a new flock of seagulls and not one broken needles!! It’s officially love 🫶

✂️ After a busy few weeks, it was time to make a few more bags ready for Monday! I love how popular the bags have been..so a few more ready for the too

🛍️ My favourite part of the bags has to be the pockets made from pockets…they make me smile!

♻️ All made from upcycled and rescued materials, giving fabrics that would have gone to landfill a new life!

⭐️ and the lessons released this week are nearly sold out 😱 with just a few spots available for the beginner workshops available!

🧵After a busy year it was finally time to make the big step and upgrade my machine to the Janome UK atelier 6…..it’s a dream! 😱

🪺 The seagulls are much trickier than they look - two layers of upholstery fabric is a lot for any machine to handle! Let alone the beaks filled with stuffing, so 8 layers to sew through…it’s fair to say there have been a few broken needles & machines🪡 !!

⭐️ A massive thank you to Sewing Machines UK. Holly really took the time to talk me through options, and we had lots of practice runs to see how it handled the beaks…not your everyday request 🤣

🧵I still love my Brother SewingCraft EU machines which are fab for everyday sewing, and the go to for lessons!!

⭐️ Over 100 students have now joined my workshops and private lessons, and I love seeing the joy as they fall in love with this fantastic hobby! The reviews & beauitful makes really do speak for themselves.

⭐️ Another busy week - this week was all about lessons, seagulls and bags as I’d run out of ones after a busy few weeks 🫶

🪺 A bit more green has peaked its way into the seagull range this week, and I’m in love with the purple one!

👖the bags make me smile so much, the highlight is the pockets inside made from jeans pockets 💕

🧵and the advanced beginner course saw students cut out their pjs and sweatshirt ready for making tomorrow

✂️ And a big investment this week with a new machine, more to come on that later this week…but it’s love already 💕

♻️ All made from upcycled and rescued fabrics as always. Saving fabric from landfill and giving it a new life!

🪺 This weekend saw a new milestone, the 200th seagull was sold at the market!

♻️ I love how popular they are, and the summer has seen so many of them flying away to new homes! Each is well & truly unique, and I love their little personalities too 🫶

✈️ They’ve nested all over the world, and my favourite thing is seeing them in their new homes, or hearing their names once they’ve settled in!

😊 What started as a bit of a joke has turned into a phenomenon - the introduction of the stripy range, the XL seagull and all of the Xmas range too.

Thank you again for all of the support, and I can’t wait to see where they end up next 💕

⭐️ As promised, “the shirt”! ⭐️

🧵This gorgeous fabric was from my favourite 𝙍𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙗𝙤𝙬 𝙁𝙖𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙨 and so perfect for a surf shirt for someone who quite likes fishing & the sea 🤣 🐠

👕 A great pattern from Wardrobe By Me and a lovely change for a few hours to sew something totally different to seagulls!

✂️ I’m most proud of the the pattern matching…it gives me a lot more joy than it should 🤣 💕

🫶 and a happy new owner of a bespoke shirt too 💕

♻️ 𝙍𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙗𝙤𝙬 𝙁𝙖𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙨 is all deadstock, so saving fabric from landfill - but also so many fantastic choices & designs, with weekly new drops of fabric.

A busy week..so much so that the pictures are at the market this week as I was busy sewing them up at 10pm last night!!

🪺 Last week was such a busy week, so we’re likely to see the 200th seagull sold today, which blows my mind 🤯

♻️ lots of newbies, and even some more green! All made from upcycled & rescued fabrics, saving them from landfill!

✂️ Lots of lessons too, a mix of workshops and private lessons! I love how popular they are, and the confidence that students now have!

👔 and I squeezed in time to make a men’s shirt too! Keep an eye out on my next post for pics of that 🐙

A bit of a different week this week with less making, and a bit more organising after a few busy weeks!

🏴‍☠️ When someone special asks for their own pirate seagull, you get to have some fun! It had to have a fishy reference too…and I think you’ll agree Chippy looks amazing 🤩 🐟

👱‍♀️ It’s all about scrunchies this week, with a restock ready foe the weekend! Lots of blues and pinks 💕

✂️ I’ve also started working on something new, a sea inspired shirt! 👕…oh and a good tidy of the sewing room where the floor is visible again 🤣

🧵 and absolutely chuffed that the sewing lessons released this week are doing so well! The bomber jacket, PJ Worksgop, and beginner workshop in August are all fully booked! 🥳
