An original painting by Maria, inspired by the coastline at Deal and Walmer.
Painted with house paint (yes, really!) and oil paint. 60cm x 60cm on paper.
After completing a house renovation, it made sense to use the leftover wall paint colours (reddish brown, orange, seafoam green, off white, and burgandy) to make art.
Wall paint doesn't behave like artist quality paints, so the painting is finished with oil paints, but the wall paint is still very much on show (swipe to see the brush marks and orange tinged colour of the lapping wave and reddish-brown shoreline).
The scene celebrates the nature, weather, and miles of pebble shoreline of Walmer and Deal. Maybe you know this view?
There are 2 more paintings (created with house paint plus oil, of scenes that celebrate Walmer and Deal's shoreline), so please check back to see these over the coming week.
Have a beautiful evening all x
